I've become a big fan of Cody Fisher's material. His presentations are entertaining, and he boils all the kinks out of his routines so everything is smooth and logical. "Counterfeit Money" is just such a routine for the venerable pen-through-bill effect.
You receive the right kind of pen and a DVD that teaches each phase of the routine in detail. The improvements over similar routines are many: 1) everything takes place at chest level, so it's visible to everyone (and your face is in frame); 2) Cody thought of logical ways to get into and out of the routine; 3) he uses situational humor to accomplish some important goals, thus masking method with entertainment. I think Counterfeit Money is a great routine for anyone -- and perfect for strollers. Cheers, Jerry |

What type of pen comes with this routine?

It's a standard black plastic pen, as sold by dealers, and is the model with the longer tip.

Thanks for the review, I've never had a pen thru bill and have been taking a serious look at adding one to my arsenal of walk-around effects. And a dvd with a routine would help
Has anyone had the pleasure of actually performing pen through bill? How does it play in the real world? |

Jerry,
Could you describe Cody's presentation for this? I didn't see anything on his web site regarding that. Craig

Hi Blindside785,
I've been performing Pen through Bill for about 15 years. I use the Cornelius Perfect Pen which IMO is the best. I use it for table magic, walk around and it always gets an excellent reaction. I always borrow the note and perform a 'floating type' routine then straight into Pen through Note linking the two with appropriate patter. All the best Mike |

It depends on where you are I suppose, but never perform pen through bill in Korea. Almost everybody knows how it's done. Children walk around with the gimmick in their pencil cases at school every day. It can play big if there just happens to be no one in the audience who knows the trick, but those audiences are fairly rare around here.

MoTown -- I don't think I should describe Cody Fisher's presentation, since that's part of what he's offering for sale. You could email him from his website, though, and I'm sure he'll answer your questions. It is http://www.codyfisher.com
