Hi all. I brought off ebay a while ago a clatter box and was hoping to add it to a routine. With some free time I thought I should get it out and start practicing.
Anyway I have put it together and the front door is quite loose, however when I want it to fall apart I physically have to pull the top right off which I find quite hard - never mind if I gave it to a kid. Have I set it up properly? The instructions say about markings on the backs of the pieces however it looks like they may have been painted over as I can't find any. Any ideas what I can do to get it working properly. Thanks Mike |

You seem to believe that all Clatter Boxes are made the same way. They aren't. You're going to have to either describe yours in great detail or post a photo of it before someone can give you a good answer to your question. Perhaps you can post a link to the e-Bay site if there is still a photo there showing it in some detail.

Most of these work by having a spring attached to the bottom that attaches to the top with a pin. One of the knobs on one side is the pin so that will release the whole thing. If the spring is not strong enough to hold everything together you might need a new one. On some models the pin may detach completely from the box and be missing (if you bought it on eBay it could be missing), Both doors should have a knob and look the same but only one will release it.

Thanks for that. Always thought needed to change the spring, will hold but think needs changing anyway. Will have to look at the pin as don't think have seen that, know I've been setting up by clipping to the top of the box.
Thanks for all advise. |
