It seems like something that can be done with sleight of hand...hmm

Paul, I bought this about 25 years ago and was very disappointed! I still use the purse to this day to hold coins for a certain routine (it is a very nice gold purse), but I have NEVER performed the effect. The nut provided is a large metal nut, but the bolt is made of white nylon - very strange, indeed! And the method is very clumsy - think "pull". As PsychoJack says above, it is much easier to come up with your own sleight than it is to fool around with this method. Save your money!

Wow, mixed reviews on this one. I think I will pass though if I have to think "pull." Thanks all for your help.

You don't have to think "pull" at all.
Maybe there are two effects with the same name. The Elduco one has a black purse with a gold frame. The nut and bolt are both Silver metal. |

Wayne, I think we may both be right - two effects with the same name by the same manufacturer. Mine is definitely by El Duco, so maybe he brought out a second "improved" version. I think I probably bought this around 1980, making it about 30 years' old. It came in a box with a gold purse and frame, some flash paper, a "silver" nut, and two white plastic bolts (one of which was attached to a "certain something". The reason the bolts were plastic was so that the "certain something" could be attached to the bolt with a screw! So Paul, maybe the version that's around now is the version that Wayne has!
