Ok, so heres the latest one, I'm getting the Axtell bear...
I already have some good ideas on mind. EG: as I walk him on he has got a long lock of blonde hair hanging out of his mouth as if he has eaten Goldilocks, which will get some laughs. And a few other things, but other than that, you guys got any ideas?? Let me know, would most apprechiate it!! Cheers!! Nick |

See Axtell' web site:
http://www.axtell.com/bear.html http://www.axtell.com/puppets-magic/bear-ideas/ There are some good gospel puns that probably can be revised. Lots of Bear (bare) Puns... Just bare with me I see you got a "bear (beer) belly" Get ready for a "Kodiak (Kodak) Moment" "Move your lips, I can bearly understand you" Get with a group of vents and the puns will flow. "Bear Ask me again" Not sure that's for kids! -Dennis

You're gonna love this bear! I just got him a few weeks ago after seeing him on stage at the International FCM conference. He looks like he came right out of Disney's Country Bear Jamboree.
Wish I could offer some routine ideas, but I'm still at the learning stage. Doug |

Thanks guys, loving the puns!! all ideas are good as I'm a ventriloquist anyway.
Doug... Thanks, I have seen one befroe so I already know what they look like, he's a great character isn't he?! That's why I buy all my puppets from Axtell as they're characters remind me of Disney, and I admire Disney's work so much, very clever!! Cheers!! Nick. |

Well, there's your theme song: "The Bare Necessities" by Phil Harris and Bruce Reitherman for Disney's Jungle Book.

Yes I have that on my Ipod, built into the speaker, but it's just a song that you could only do as you get him out the case etc, I was thinking of making him sing it maybe...? Another thing was a name.... Heres what I had in mind but not sure...

I suggest thinking about the bear's character; then he will talk to you. Ballou really had a great character.

Here is a site of Bear names: http://www.20000-names.com/animal_bear_names.htm
List of fictional Bear names: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fictional_bears I'm sure from these list one would be appealing.

Do you have the bear puppet yet? I'm thinking of a great beginning where the bear backs out of a garbage can singing "The Bare Necessities Song" or some other such ditty, but the idea of having him first be seen as a huge bear butt backing out of a can (or from your case) strikes me as funny... but it would only work if you can make him seem to waddle out, then poke his head up and say something like "Oh, hello there! Would anyone like a pork chop?" as he sees the audience. Qua-Fiki does something like that with his Wonder Dog puppet, who runs into a can after a ball, then gets stuck and has to back out. Kids find the sight hilarious.

Hi Spell binder.... urm... I have lost you with the dustbin bit? Bears are wild animals and I haven't seen one in a bin before?! I like the idea though. And no I haven't got one yet, although I have had a go of one and already seen one of them about 30 times!! LOL, I like your thinking of the bin, but I'm just finding it hard to understand why a bear would be in a bin? A rat maybe... but not a bear...? And you would have to get a HUGE bin to put him in, so he's just gonnna go in a trunk I think and I might just have him wearing overalls and a straw hat, for the hillbilly look?! LOL!!
The bare necesseties bit I will deffinately do... Like that... Cheers!! Nick :) |

You must not go camping in bear country very much. Anyway, good luck to you and your bear.
