I know is unprofessional
but has anybody losted their patience with a guy that wanted to screw your performance? for example I remember one time like a few years back where I handed the deck to a heckler and told him that he could do the show if he wanted. |

For me, there would be different levels of when I would lose patience depending largely upon the stakes involved. If for a corp client, or an annual event that you want to return for, I would have the patience of Job. For a casual party or non-paid event, much lower tolerance.
One thing I know, I would never hand MY deck to a heckler. Let him use his own! In general, I would say the magician needs to come out looking like the rose... Jim

Ooh.. it was a non paying gig
so my tolerance level was at 0 it was at a BBQ in a friend of a friend house. so I didn't lost anything I would never hand my deck to a heckler again (actually I don't even like when people touch my decks cause if their hands are wet.. there goes the pack). I also did a magic trick involving him which got him furious but all the people were laughing.. is kind of hard to explain cause it doesn't translate well on english but basically we call the Jack of Hearts.. (joto de corazones) the Gay of Hearts which can be heard as you are gay from the heart.. so I basically ask him if anybody has ever read him the cards.. shuffle shuffle.. blablabla chose a card and do not look at it.. and then told him.. basically for the way you are dressing, the way you talk, the way you want constant attention and without looking at a card I can tell you you are Gay from the Heart.. and that´s it.. everybody laughed but him and he remain silent |

I can see why some (a lot) of people would be angry at this lol
though if the people know about the act you do etc, they should be willing to play along, not your fault the guy went mad! if it's your act people should accept it! some people are so shallow they think that that matters

I would never dare to do the mel mellers stuff insulting the people, it isn't me, I just did that cause I lost my patience with him.. |
