Well, I am still just starting with mem deck work, and, as I have not fully memorized it yet, I am really enjoying the potential for using a mem deck for effects that do not require memorizing the deck.
That is, built in effects and such. It makes the tool feel much more useful when I can use it before I have even finished learning it fully. Of course this is different than going out with a half practiced trick, as these are routines and effects that can be fully learnt without memorizing the deck. It just feels good, lol, and helps build general confidence with the deck, and even helps familiarize yourself with the stack just by day to day use. Of course there are the many effects that are independent of stack, but do not disrupt the stack, but focusing on stack reliant effects (not necessarily unique to a particular stack) what effects do you like to use your mem deck for that don't require the "mem: part?

Gdw,
In Simon Aronson's book "Try the Impossible", there is a section in the book entitled "Unpacking the Aronson Stack" (pages 190-266). I believe that all (or at least most) of the effects in this section allows performance of those magic effects utilizing the Aronson Stack but not requiring knowing the Aronson Stack. Simon does comment that knowing the Aronson Stack would be beneficial however in helping you reassemble the deck after each of the effects and/or possibly helping you recover from a performance error of these effects. In addition, Café member Eric Richardson has put out an e-book entitiled "It all Depends" that utilizes the Aronson Stack. I'm not certain if you must know the Aronson Stack to perform Eric's effects but sending him a PM would answer that question. Hope this helps. Mike

Yeah, I think the majority of effects under this condition would be either regular effects that can be done with any deck, that just don't disturb the deck, or reset it easily, or sack specific effects.
Though, I would be interesting to hear peoples non memorization reliant effects people do with their stacks. Stack specific or otherwise.
