Hi Folks,
For anyone who might be interested, here's a little taste of Yannick Lacroix's "Bermuda Triangle" coin routine, published in the latest (September) issue of Genii: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6JqYhYs6uo |

Interesting. If that's only the first part, I'm intrigued to see what happens next.

This effect is simply beautiful and such a nice "feel" in its structure. I have combined it with a Greg Eanes' effect from Apocalypse called S.C.A.T.
Actually, it seems to me that Yannick Lacroix's routine, at least the phase we are given in Genii could also be combined with Jennings' Hook, Mike Powers' Captain Hook, and/or David Roth's Easy Expert Coins Across, or Derek Dingle's Silver Quick. Perhaps another avenue would be Dean Dill's Swirl Assembly and Backfire. Bermuda Triangle could be a nice follow-up to "explain" how the previous effect was done. Regardless, Lacroix's routine is brilliant. It reminds me a LITTLE bit of a Mike Bornstein effect called Triangle Angle. Namaste, Vlad PS: Thanks coin guys for putting up with me Tim and Marion are teaching me that it is a GOOD thing to love coins as much as cards |

"Bermuda Triangle" would also work well as a lead-in (or follow-up) to a trick by Camille Gastine called "Triangulation," from the December, 2005 issue of Genii. In Camille's routine, two half dollars and an English penny are placed on the table in a triangle formation, then the English penny changes places with each of the half dollars as it travels around the triangle. The two half dollars and one English penny then become two English pennies and one half dollar. Then all three coins become half dollars. Finally, someone (anyone) is asked to choose one of the three half dollars. The magician picks it up and brushes it with his fingertips, changing it into an English penny. The coins are immediately handed out for examination. |

I just read through Triangulation in the December 2005 issue of Genii as suggested by David Acer. What a wonderful routine!
Folks, if, like me, you missed this, look it up. There is a TON of magic happening in this effect. This issue is now at my working table and I hope to get started on it this week. Thank you again David!! Namaste, Vlad |

"Triangulation" (like "Bermuda Triangle") is a great routine, but it pretty much went unnoticed when we ran it (maybe I didn't sell it properly in the write-up). As for my "next opus," I've been working on another magic book for a few years, but a lot of my writing time has been deferred to the Magicana column in Genii, which averages about 5 tricks and 7000 words a month. |
