Hey everyone,
At the age of 19 I released a string of four ebooks titled "Cards, Coins, Thoughts & Theories". They were received rather well for such a young person's work, including praise from some rather big names in magic, as well as nearly unanimous positive feedback from everyone who purchased them, included many of our members on the Café. I will always be grateful for that. I have been approached on a number of occasions with the idea of putting out a series of video downloads, each featuring a single effect, with a rather small price tag (let's say $8 each, probably less). It has occurred to me that with all of the updates that I've made to each of those effects over thousands if not tens of thousands of performances in the last few years, releasing each effect of the CCTT series as this new video series might be one option. My question is, is this something you'd like to see and would be interested in? I don't put out products just to put out products, and haven't released anything in nearly three years. Here is the list of effects from CCTT with quick descriptions, and some of the press surrounding the original series: "These tricks are worth much more than the paper I didn't print them on!" -David Acer "Very nice ideas; I really enjoyed it!" -Victor Trabucco "If he is willing to give, then I'm willing to receive." -Bill Butski, Professional "This is a kick ass set of notes!" -Steve Simmons, Part-time professional "This set of notes is one of the best to come out in the last few years!" -Mark Runge, Hobbyist "Brian's extensive knowledge of magic is a joy to read." -Michael Kras, Part-time professional SandTrap: Impossible location meets sandwich plot. This trick has already made its way into dozens of professionals' repertoires. Ned: A bizarre flash transposition between a playing card and a coin; grounded in classic Sankey-wakyness and taught with Jay's permission. Experimental Imagination: A gaffless, impromptu variation of Hofzinser's classic effect "Everything and Nothing" Contract Killers: An odd thought experiment in which a card is shot through the heart leaving a splattering of blood, only to be visually healed moments later. Mr. Clean Coins to Pocket: Until "Audio" by Eric Jones, this was the first truly new coins-to-pocket routine in nearly a decade. Rooted in classic Sankey principles and taught with Jay's permission. Copper Silver Simple: A coin changes from copper to silver, one side at a time; a unique way to let the audience see the magic as a process, not just a result. Sudden Aces/The Four Card Game: A novel flash production of four aces, followed by the twisting routine that Michael Paul called "brilliant" and served as the foundation for his top selling effect "Twist3" Lost and Found Coins: Part coins to pocket, part hanging coins, part three-coin production. Silenced: An impossibly fast card transposition under the intriguing theatrical premise of silence. Fooling magicians since 2007. I'd Swear There Were Two!: A card is in two places at the same time; an absurd impromptu impossible location. The Un-Midas Touch: Three silver coins change to "gold" and then back to silver in the spectators' hands Illusionary Coins: A quick and unusual three coin production Let me know what you all think! Thanks, Brian |
