Couldn't have come up with the ending if you and I weren't brainstorming! Good thinking!! I love your idea of where to hide the gimmick. A truly great convention! I was thrilled to hang out with Banachek, Shaun Dunn (Google search for his effect, "INFANT", soon to be released...the trailer is awesome!!), Ran Pink, Jan Forrester, That "Hacker Guy", Neil Boisen, Tim Pratt, Ted Gillam, Jamie Salinas, Cosmo, Pacific Paul, Isadore, Matt Johnson, Chistopher Taylor...the list goes on and on!!! Can't wait till next year... |

I would do four days, but frankly, it may be like the old joke about why are house guests like fresh fish? Because after three days, even the best ones start to smell. It may be better to pack a lot in within the three day period, so it doesn't ever drag, and leave everyone wanting more. Certainly better than the converse. Just my opinion. It was a great convention.

I still like the idea of a three day convention but I wouldn't have so much time in between events. Sometimes you have to wait up to two hours between sessions (hell who needs a dinner break anyway?). I'd rather have back to back sessions without the breaks. Also glad to see some previous names starting to come back. I didn't get on board with Mindvention until several years into it (like many people here) so having Banachek, Osterlind, Chuck Hickok, Marc Salem, Riggs, Ted K., Sikes, John Archer and others back again would be nice. Also I personally like having more on the business of mentalism, marketing, agents, press and publicity, cruise industry and other specialty markets as topics for some of the presentations. Always a good time and great event, and some of these would be a great addition.

Yup, all the guys you mentioned and on top of that, all the guys this year would have been my dream line up anyway. On top of that, a few guys I had time to chat with this year would offer a lot too, if you could convince them to speak... Ken Weber, Apollo Robbins, Andrew Gerard, Paul Vigil and my very good friend Patrick Redford. Some of the most creative mentalists I've met. They've all left me with LOADS to think about and, without sounding arrogant, I'm sure I'm like many people here in that it takes a LOT to really get you thinking.
Danny and Robert did an incredible job and I'm so grateful for them taking a risk on me being there! Col

I agree. When attending this convention most of these guys would stay up 24 hours straight if there were scheduled activities. They can sleep on the plane back home. If you can't get up early for the great sessions Danny and Robert have available, then let 'em sleep. Entertainers should also know they must seize opportunity when they are presented.

I found it kinda amusing that at a Mentalist convention, I taught one of the younger guys a new double life he had not seen before, lol. My converstaion with Banachek in the pub was about New York City cops and tickets, lol. But that's kinda the point meeting people and making new friends, who share the same crazy ride we are all on.
Looking forward to next year!!!! Vegas baby Vegas !!!!!! Lol |

I also had a great time talking with everyone. The lectures where fun as well, some things I totally disagree others I loved such is the nature of such things and peoples interests. I missed Banachek's lecture and the final show as I needed to catch a flight, and unfortunately couldn't say goodbye to everyone.
I showed a few of you my pet effect= What The Flux, and glad you liked it, the reactions from a couple of you were great =) Next year I will be coming a day earlier and staying a day later so I can better enjoy my time there. -W |

I thought the three days was perfect! I think the panel discussions could have been longer, but been more of a workshop (docc Hilford style) giving everyone the chance to get hands on with something new.

Does anyone know what Al Koran publication contains that forgotten piece Bob Cassidy performed?
