Hey all,
Does anyone have a good (or even several good) symbol dictionaries. I'm interested in learning more about animal symbolism (well those examples in "Invisible Readings" are impressive) as well as more "abstract" symbols. Ideally I'd like something that goes a bit into the history and meaning behind the symbols, not just "x-means-y" Any thoughts are appreciated.

A Dictionary of Symbols by J.E. Cirlot is very good in this respect.
