In what HAS to be the worst thing that I could ever imagine happening to a family, an elderly friend of ours has gone missing. PLEASE pray for her and her family.

Certainly. I don’t know how but it seems we could help look for her in some way or another via the internet. What of google maps and all of that stuff. I am not sure what its saying as I only read through it quickly but it seems they are looking for a car. I will reread it again. That’s my first thought and I am sorry if that a silly idea and unhelpful.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

I think this is a huge possibility. I forget exactly what happened, but the users on /b/ on forchen helped track down someone, and "bring them to justice" via the web. A bit different, as it involved tracking the one doing the wrong, rather than the victim, but it shows it is possible.

I remember now, it was something about a guy who posted a picture, or a video that involved cruelty to a cat I think. They figured out here he lived by info from the picture/video I think, and eventually tracked him down and outed him.

Just shows the true potential of the Internet and the vast near instant networking it provides. I would love to see more like this done. A bit more helpful than just praying (no disrespect intended, I am just saying that I am realizing we an do so much more than just send our thoughts and prayers.)

Perhaps the people of forchen can put their powers to use for good once again.

***edit*** Man, it is weird to bring up something like forchen in such as serious topic, and to bring it up with complete seriousness as an option/example.

Yeup, you pretty much got it. 4chan is one of the weirdest places on the internet. While they can be bullies, they can also be funny, and have a large group of people that can essentially track anyone down.

What you described was the incidence of a lady in England who threw a cat into a trashbin and closed the lid before scurrying off. They sent her death threats before she was forced to have police protection. However she did apologize for her actions.

The most recent incident was the video of a girl in Germany who had been throwing puppies into a river, saying "whee!" while doing so. While I know many places are too poor and have to control the population, why would anyone have fun doing it? Anyways, 4chan gets her full name, address, phone numbers, schools she attends...basically located her exact point on the map. I don't know if they threw death threats to her but I know she too issued an apology, I think through another video.

BACK ON TOPIC:
I am sorry to hear what has happened to her. SHe will definitely be in my prayers. I love seeing justice come upon those who prey on the elderly or children.

How do you find this group online? I was unable to and could really use it....

Keeping her in my prayers, Clinton!

Are you talking about forchen? Probably partly my fault as it is actually 4chan as crestfallenLyric spelt it.

Be forewarned, it will not be what you expected there. They an put their power towards good sometimes, but most of the time they are just creating new memes.

Hopefully this doesn't get off track with 4chan now.

So, let's focus on what we can do taken them as an example.

Dudes... depending on 4chan to "do the right thing" is like depending on a forest fire to cook yer dinner...
If you ever get to a point where words have no meaning, you're probably talking to a dog.

Man Linked To Missing Miss. Woman Suspected In Ala. Attacks
Ala. Police Recover Mercedes; Ethel Simpson Still Missing

http://www.wapt.com/news/25053765/detail.html

CLINTON, Miss. -- A convicted sex offender, who was last seen with a missing 81-year-old Clinton woman, was arrested Friday and charged in the stabbing of an Alabama man and is also suspected in the slaying of an Alabama woman, authorities said.

Police in Lee County, Ala., arrested James Cobb Hutto, 39, Friday morning, Clinton Police Chief Don Byington said. Hutto, of Jasper, Ala., was driving Ethel Winstead Simpson's 2002 Mercedes, but Simpson was not with him and is still missing, Byington said.

Hutto is charged with attempted murder and robbery in connection with the Friday morning attack on mark Ambers Cox, 56, of Opelika, Ala., police said. Cox suffered multiple stab wounds to his neck, face and head, and was listed in serious condition, police said.

The Lee County Sheriff's Department in Alabama said Hutto told Cox he was interested in purchasing some property from him and accompanied him to an area near Cox's home, where the assault took place, police said.

Officers spotted Hutto, still driving Simpson's car, about 90 minutes later and took him into custody, police said.

Alabama police also suspect Hutto in the death of one of his relatives -- a Birmingham woman who was found dead in her home Thursday morning, the Lee County sheriff said.

Clinton police investigators were headed to Alabama Friday afternoon to interview Hutto about Simpson's disappearance, Byington said.

Simpson was last seen Monday with Hutto, Byington said. They were seen together Monday afternoon at the Baptist Healthplex in Clinton and then later that night at the Riverwalk Casino in Vicksburg, Byington said.

That guy has covered a lot of criss-cross ground in a couple days, and some of it apparently very close to me. Amos, I hope and pray for a good outcome to this.

I heard tonight that her body may have been found in a nearby town. He was found driving her car in another state and arrested.
