Any ideas on how to present Any Card at Any Number? Barrie Richardson gives some, but any other ideas?
Thanks, landmark

Try looking at Some Tricks by Andrew O'Conner, it has a great method and presentation.

Tell the story of the legendary David Berglas who astonished other magicians with a magic trick called any card at any number. Then explain the concept in a way that will fit your presentation & go into the trick. Your audience will have no idea who Berglas is, but if you're a good story teller they'll create their own image of this impossible feat & then watch you perform it. Suddenly they think you're as good as the legend.

I like Magicmike's idea...I'd take it a step further though...I'd work the presentation so that I'd be performing the effect AS I'm telling the story of Berglas. It would be as if you're trying to explain(visually, with your cards) to your audience how the legend used to performed this "great feat" that made him so famous. So, you'd be performing the effect through no conscious effort on your part(acting this) and you WOULDN'T point out that you're even attempting the same feat. In the end, the named card would be at the named number and you'd act surprised because you didn't expect it to really work; you (supposedly) weren't even trying to perform it! (you can make it a point throughout your story that no other magician has ever been able to duplicate the feat). Anyhow, this would create an awesome effect because you're putting the audience in the moment(As mr. Tommy Wonder explains in his books). WHew! that felt like a lot. Hope this helps....

I have a solution in my forth coming book (yes, I swear, it is ALMOST done!), Maximum Mind Control. The effect is titled, "Thought of Card at Thought of Number (sort of)". It leaves the spectators with the impression that the "thought of" card is found at a "thought of" number. The card is not forced, neither is the thought of number, and the cards are counted by the spectator. Oh, yeah, and except for one almost invisible cut of the deck, the trick is self-working. After performing this effect I had one poor lady run screaming from the room. Smile
