It seems a little obvious to me, as far as the move goes (I'm speaking from only watching the performance and only one time) and not enough Magic for the time spent.

It looks like a good "work in progress" at this time. I applaud him for trying something new though. We need more of that.

I like it, after watching a few times. It can be smoother, but he reminds of a lecturer who does some similar rope.

Anyway, I can see that packaged as a quick pocket trick. He says, you can inspect the two ropes so we can assume that is nothing in the rope to tip it off.

That is Chastain Criswell, he is local to me. There have been a few names speak about how they liked it. I just posted it for him ....

I spoke in depth, with Chastaine, about some other magicians who do the same effect as his PN method. This link you gave is also a work in progress, but if he used that move as part of a routine, it could be a subtle blow-a-way. As a stand-alone move, it focuses too much on it.
