I watched Jason do this effect dozens of times.
I don't know how it is done and I find that refreshing. It is also a crowd pleaser with Jumbo cards...very cool that! |

Many versions of cards across can be done by palming cards.
In this version the jumbo cards are obviously gimmicked. If someone thought that it was done by palming then... But it combines a couple of well known principles cleverly hidden in the routine in a very natural way. The cards are well made and will last for long. Would recommend this routine whithout any hesitation. Nice work! |

I just watched the DVD and enjoyed it.
The effect is strong and easy to perform. Heaps of audience involvement makes this very fun and yet it really is a good mystery. A great effect for standup performers wanting to include a big splashy Jumbo card trick with no sleights. The magic really does seem to take place in the spectators hands. Jason teaches the effect extremely well and covers everything...everything. I think this should be a huge hit. |

Hello all:
Thanks Eddie for such comments about my "Kings Crossing". These have been shipping since November 15, and I've already started getting reorders from shops; I'm very pleased that everyone is enjoying the trick! Please let me know if you have any questions about it; I still have some in stock from the first production run. Thank you! Best regards, Jason |

Sorry, why are the cards in one pile all Kings and the cards in the other pile all Aces? To me, that just makes ZERO sense theatrically.

I mean if you start by asking the question "Why am I using my 'considerable powers' as a magician to move 3 cards from one pile of cards to another pile of cards?" you actually might find the theatrical motivation you need. I love Mac King's solution, it's HILARIOUS. I agree that it may seem initially that a pile of Kings and a pile of Aces has it's issues, BUT it's certainly not impossible to motivate with some creative thinking and scripting. Jumbo cards themselves make "zero sense" in most cases but again, it depends on how you choose to motivate the use. Since the plot is a magical teleportation of items from one place to another the ability to identify the specific items teleported would make sense. This could be that one pile of cards would have blue backs and the other red; or the cards could be chossen (as in the example below); or they could be distinct sets as is the case in this offering. In any case, YOU must create the theatrical sense and motivate the presentation. At least that's how I see it. My favorite version of cards across is still the one from Tarbell Volume 4. (Flying Cards and Envelopes) Over the years I altered some of the handling, added my own touches to it, and EVERY single time I've used it, it never fails to amaze and entertain. If done properly it creates the illusion of you never touching anything to accomplish the effect. I've have people approach me years after seeing it and it is a trick that really sticks with an audience.

Carlo, that was a great response. Hopefully that answers your question Futureal, but if it doesn't, please let me know. Thanks! Best regards, Jason |

I had a chance to review this last night during the Magic Marketplace product review show and here are a few thoughts from that show.
Overall: This is a pack small play big kind of effect that will fit nicely into a standup act. You show 10 jumbo Kings and 10 jumbo Aces, the Kings vanish (in the spectator's hands) and travel to the packet of Aces held by spectator. Cons: * There is some dealing involved so this will require the use of a table. * The price tag of $60.00 feels a little high for something like this. Pros: * There is no sleight of hand involved and practically works itself. * Everything happens in the spectator's hands so you really can focus on the presentation. * The method is simple and you'll be doing it in no time. Final Thoughts: This is a nice piece of magic that will fit comfortably in the middle of any act. It's great for stand up workers looking for a piece of magic to include in their act. I'm guessing you can get a solid 10 mins from this. The gimmicks and DVD included are just fine and do the job. If you think this sounds like the kind of thing for you then I think you will be happy with your purchase. luke |

I agree with Luke. This is VERY nice, but the price tag is a little high. This would be a good buy at $40.00. Though the effect is pretty much a self-working miracle. So, I guess if you are looking to add some jumbo cards into your routine- this would be a nice one to add!

Are the cards examinable at the end of the routine. In the demo videos the 7 cards are left face down and the 13 cards are just spread. Can they be separated and shown to the spectators.
Thanks, Ed |

Yes, all cards can be shown in the end. Jason covers this on the video, although he states that you don't need to show the 7 kings that are left; all the matters is that the 10 cards that were aces are now 13 because 3 kings moved across . . .
It would really be quite tragic

I received mine on Saturday, very good. I start my summer season in a few weeks and this may well replace my poker size sleight of hand version I've been doing for years! As the ad says, it's about as self-working as it gets, but you still have to be there though
While you can do this close-up, I think it's just about perfect for cabaret, parlour and children's shows. Gary Jones.

I still say that you can show all the cards at the end; I openly show that there are 7 kings left by counting the 7 backs, and carefully showing the "7" fronts of the kings by holding them in a fan as before. Then I can show the fan of the aces + 3 kings, spread them out on a table, or let the spec count and/or handle the 13 cards. That's how I do it, at least! ;-)
