Little Variation of Ponta's routine + my production style
I have two version( one with story, and one without story) and its non-story version. Hope you guys like it and give me some feed back please http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxQmD0BZm_c (I know I made little mistake on my eyework and vanishing acting but I have only taken this webcam-recording thing few times in the past lol) |

To be truthfull it wasn't bad. BUT what didn't make it great was the tossing of the coin in the begining making a clink noise, and the flashing of the figered coin showing the two at finger tips. also at the end you tapped the nest causing that clink noise again. BUT I think the performance was very good and it has great potential. Just my view. Keep up the good work dogical. Cheers PT

Very nice...I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I would agree that the tapping noise gives something away...have you thought of setting this to a little piece of music? That or just some dialogue (as you said you have a story version) would cover that up nicely. Loved both the productions and the vanishes. Good work!

Hi Dogical,
I think you have an engaging manner. You looked like you was enjoying it and I liked watching you perform. As has already been said, just be a little more careful on your angles and the tapping (it will never sound as it should and will give the gaff away). So well done, give it some more practice and maybe post again with the patter next time. Kind regards Sean |

That was not bad, but be careful it seemed like you were performing for the coins not for us. You need more eye contact with your audiance. Just something to think about. It will just get better from here. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for sharing. Tim

Thanks a lot
it was really helpful. Ya, While I was filming, I realized that I had been looking my self in the monitor, so I was trying to not to see that and eyework got weird haha So, conclude what you guys have told me, 1. I should've looked coin while I was doing re******* vanish and looked camera while showing there's only two coins. 2. Don't make tapping sound and try to find other way to prove spectators. 3. Some bgm Thx guys!! ps. I met Doc Eason and Peter Morrison like 2 days ago and got other feedback as well. Since this video was taken like weeks ago, I will tape one tommorow or something with bad thing fixed ! Thanks again guys! |

Another thought - You may have already done this but it is worth bringing up for others too.
You called this a non-script version. Really it has a silent script. In this case a series of movements, discoveries and emotions. For example, at the beginning you produced the three coins in three ways. In your silent script, what would the emotions be? What would the motivations be? You can get different responses based on what you are thinking. Tom Stone has talked about this in his book - Vortex and in his Genii article. I liked your routine very much. The only thing not mentioned is that the final hand positions were held too long. I would start to wonder what was happening with your right hand. I think you should acquit/wash your hands sooner. Very nice. Looks pretty darn smooth to me. I agree that you might not want to hold that last pose with your right hand quite as long - either do a wash, give it something to do, or take it out of the frame. But your moves are graceful and obviously well rehearsed, and you have a very expressive face.

Much better. I liked them both but you made improvements on the second vid. Great job. I have a suggestion when you blow the smoke out, I would open your hand at the same time and when the smoke dissapates it will look like the coin came out of thin air. Just my thoughts. You are very good. Keep it up.
