Hi guys/girls!

Just wanted to let you know about a new effect I've released through Russ Stevens of RSVP Magic. It uses a spectators borrowed iphone, a signed playing card or a borrowed item i.e. money, credit card, driving licence even your business card. The object is photographed on their hand with their phone, it vanishes and is finally ripped out of the image on their phone. This leaves them with a truly memorable souvenir.

I created this effect for the IBM convention 2009 and have finally released the effect. Due for release on the 25th October it has been called the "Close up trick of the year" by Duncan Trillo of magicweek and I have been given this quote by Gregory Wilson "This latest iTrick has so much to offer: A compelling presentation, a visually clever disappearance, a truly baffling reappearance and all done with a borrowed iPhone!"

Here is a link to the trailer

Steve,
I see from the promo page that this will work with all iPhone models but can we assume that this can also be performed with an iTouch?

Thanks!

Respectfully,
Rochaz

I have seen this effect first hand and it is absolutely brilliant, a real worker and a trick I will be adding to my repertoire and is in my opinion a 'must buy'. Exellent work Steve and as always an extremely well produced DVD from RSVP.

Can you take photos with an iTouch?

Yes, I beleive you can. I haven't had a look at one myself. But they are all similar. As long as it takes photos and views them like an iphone it will work.

It works on some other phones too I'm told like the HTC and an xperia phone.

Cheers

Hello Everyone,

As someone that generally hates iphone magic apps, when I heard about Steve Gore's new iphone trick I was suspicious. A trick that actually uses a spectators borrowed iphone? When Steve eventually showed me one of the routines, I knew that I just had to release it under the rsvpmagic banner. I hope that Duncan Trillo over at Magicweek doesn't mind, but here's what he has to say today about Steve Gore's 'Trick Photography"...

"Steve Gore's Trick Photography is about as perfect as proper working close-up magic gets. Very magical, direct, powerful, playful, practical and slap-bang up-to-date. I just loved this trick when I first saw it, and your audiences will too. Years ago, a magician may have asked "can I borrow a handkerchief... hat... cigarette..." well not anymore! But ask "can I borrow an iPhone?" and out they'll come. Watch the demo video then watch it again! MagicWeek's Close-up Trick of the Year - fantastic! (DT). Steve Gore's Trick Photography produced by RSVPMagic - pre-order now to receive a free gift worth £9.99 ($15.00)".

Best,
Russ

Just to confirm, the very latest IPod Touches take photos but the original IPod Touches do not..

I'm a sucker for an IPhone Trick, got all the apps and DVDs relating to IPhone tricks but this one stands heads and shoulders above the previous effects as it happens with their phone, no app, no prerecorded footage.. Looks great..

I DO know Russ but this is not an endorsement because of that, truth be told he bullies me, so I try not to say nice things about him Smile

This effect though is a lovely piece and the IPhone is just getting more and more popular. Nice one Steve & Russ..

Do you need to covertly get hold of the spectators iPhone before the trick to do the dirty work? Can someone give some more info....
Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right!

No, there is no set up needed on their phone. You just borrow it during the routine and they are left with a photo of their empty hand on their phone.

I aims to please!

My favourite version is with a signed card and stickers but the other versions on the DVD are great too. I also love performing it with a stack of business cards or borrowed money.

Cheers

I just have to say that it was a great privilege to have worked with Steve and help him develop this effect. It should have been sponsored by Ronseal as it does exactly what it says on the tin...(ok box). Anything with a borrowed item that starts clean and ends clean is always going to be a winner!

Those that buy this will NOT be disappointed!
