Congrats to the SF Giants and to SF, the most beautiful city in the world for hosting the World Series!
I even forgive them for making my physically ill by keeping it so close. |

They're a good team. If they had one more strong bat they'd be a GREAT team.
Hopefully they're good enough to beat Cliff Lee ( and whoever else is on the Rangers- I'm drawing a blank)

I hope they take 'em.
I don't know how long you've been in the city but I spent many cold afternoons (what my boss and I told our director was an airport audit cuz you could see planes take off) with 800 people in Candle Stick and just being dissappointed. I love the new ball park though. |

Wow. I almost, partly, slightly, a little bit agree with Tom Cutts for once.
But I have to say that Baseball is big enough to accept fans of all sorts, and that people are free to garner whatever sort of enjoyment out of the game that they are able to. Only Red Sox fans feel that you have to be born into the team and anointed into fandom. GO GIANTS!

I don't talk smack about SF I tell the truth about the idiots running the state. Other than bad traffic I love the bay area. I lived in California for about 41 years, does that count?

Indeed but I don't dislike California, the state assembly is whacked out, but it is a great area. SF is a beautiful city. I can't help if people can't read and comprehend.

Because your incantations are all wrong, Santa, you may not share in the pride or pleasure brought to San Francisco by the guy who pays people to come to that fair city and wear shirts that say "Giants" in spite of their being only of average size. And it serves you right. John

Cute, but not entirely accurate, John. The Giants have more farmed players and rookie players that most teams out there right now. In effect, they ARE "from San Francisco" in that the started their careers here.
This has been working against them all season, as they lack the hard hitting veteran free-agents that many other teams rely on to hit them dingers. If you can't quibble about baseball, what can you quibble about? Quote: On 2010-10-25 17:47, Magnus Eisengrim wrote:

49Dave Reghetti is from San Jose....
The Giants use to not have pitching, now they miss hitting...we need Bonds drugs and all! He's also a local guy. Doesn't matter, the ball park is outstanding though the name Pacific Bell was so much prettier than AT&T. John does have a point, very few ball players lived in the bay area after the season ended. Lots of the 49ers lived there full time. |
