Just released in the USA through Hocus-Pocus and in the UK by The Merchant of Magic at Magicshop.co.uk I am proud to say this is finally coming to the market after a lot of hard work. They are hand made and designed in the UK by Marcus Jahrling.

I've had so many emails over the past few days with magicians asking questions about this I thought I'd give members here a heads up on this so hopefully it will help answer questions. A promotional video will be up shortly.

One of my favorite effects in magic has to be Snowstorm. I've owned every Kevin James Snowstorm he has released. After eight years of traveling with them all, I have finally realised that you still get exactly the same effect by using a regular fan and performing it as it was originally presented. While I still love Kevin's version, for me with the amount of travel I do, I just had to go back to a plain old fan. I did however always want to add something special to the end of my routine where I can pick up my bowler hat (I perform as Chaplin) and a blast of snow (confetti) comes from the hat. For the past two years I've tried almost everything to achieve this effect.

I am proud to say that this has now been achieved - and much more!! I have been in contact with a good friend in the UK, Marcus Jahrling. Like me, Marcus has been working on trying to achieve the perfect snowstorm for his own act. We both had the same needs. Something that would work 100% of the time, and be easily operated. I am proud to say Marcus achieved this and a bit more. The great thing about this is that you can be set up and perform this anytime, anywhere. Since I've been using my own personal Extreme Snowstorm, I've developed other routines where I take my iphone (would work well with the new ipad in cabaret or stage) and show a snow globe. You shake it and they see the snow in the globe. Whenever you want, a BURST of snow comes out of it, and you can show the snow gone from the globe.

It's a great effect for stand-up performers and even street performers!! For Christmas shows it's a great new effect. Not your ordinary 'snowstorm' routine that everybody else is performing!! The iphone routine I put together is becoming a favorite in my stand up act.

There are some really great features about this. It is hidden so the audience can't see it. It is designed so you can easily perform your show as usual, and when it's time for the snow you can activate the gimmick. Marcus has also added a safety latch so it doesn't go off accidentally. Best of all it's super easy to use. As I said, this works perfectly in conjunction with any other snowstorm on the market, from a Kevin James version to the original version.

This comes with everything you need to perform - as well as access to a tutorial where I show you how to hook it up (it's incredibly easy though) and even explain my own handling on my own easy to do snowstorm that I've been closing my show with for years. You aren't limited to using this as an addition to your snowstorm routine - you can have silks shoot out from a cup, glass, bag - pretty much anything you can pick up you can use. The great thing is you start clean and end clean. So, while we call this Extreme Snowstorm it can be used for other things as well. Pretty much you can pick up ANY object and have something fly out of it. You could walk up to a table (if you are so inclined!) pick up a cup and have a burst of snow (confetti) come from it, or a silk shoot out.

I will be working on a promotional video this week - hope to have it up and running shortly.

Paul I enjoyed your promo real, very nice and love the snowstorm at the end. I can't wait to see what you have come up with. A snowstorm from my IPhone now that's exciting. So you have a price? I can see this as closer for the show I'm working on.

Does this device shoot actual confetti or just air to aid in the distribution of the confetti?

I spent today filming. One of my favorite things to do with this is to do my 'growing hanky' illusion as Chaplin and once it's over - as a kicker have a silk fly out of my hand from nowhere. It really does look great and is the finish to this routine I've been looking for over 8 years!!
The most fun I have with this is my iphone routine as well. I pick up my iphone, show a snow globe and confetti (snow) comes from it.

Hopefully will have a video link up soon.

Hello elimagic
This shoots confetti or silks rather than air like a Kevin James version!! I've tried every type of 'air' blower out there and to be honest, not happy with any of them. Either too bulky, too noisy etc. This is why I use the original fan version. What we came up with however answers all of the points I wanted for my own snowstorm finale, and best of all I can do this anytime and anywhere. Whole new concept for card on ceiling. Really you are limited your imagination. I've come up with lots of ideas for this -you could pick up a deck of cards and have something shoot out of that etc. The istorm though really is cool!!The reactions from people are amazing - I like to think of it as a snowstorm version for the 21st Century (FINALLY!!!)

Hi all
I have put up a very quick video demonstration on youtube for those who sent me pms and emails asking to see something. This isn't the promo demo which I hope to have up by end of the weekend. Good news is that two television magic celebrities have ordered a unit each after seeing what it can do. That is incredibly exciting and while I can't tell you how they will use it they are both very clever ideas!! One of the ideas I quickly tried out with the Extreme Snowstorm and it even amazed me!!
I also booked myself this weekend on a TV show here in New Zealand with my iphone idea 'iSnow' - where I show a snowglobe on my iphone, shake it and BANG - snow comes from it. Hope to include this on the new promo video.

Here is the quick demo I did yesterday as a sneak preview

Thanks Sam2452
The great thing about this is that you start and end clean (well, except for the mess:) You can use this anytime and anywhere. I even tried using this with my chop routine and what an amazing ending for the close-up show. You can activate it at anytime and the great advantage about this is that you have a 'safety' switch so it doesn't go off accidentally. I use it in my stage show during the middle of my act, and also at the end for the finale of my 'snow' routine - it doesn't get in my way at all.

Paul

Never one to be happy with any of my promo films I spent yesterday and today finishing yet another copy of the promo.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t5ns-l5rHM

Had some fun with this item - came up with a comedy bit for my Chaplin act. I show a red hanky (which I produce using this from my pocket - it just jumps out of my pocket as in clip) - then I look as though I go to produce a dove, however feathers fly out EVERYWHERE - it's an updated version of an old 'bit' - but when those feathers come out it really does look funny! I didn't put that on the clip as we ran out of time - but everybody in the studio laughed so I have something new for my act:)

My friend Marcus who created this just finished a show where he performs a sponge ball routine and suddenly a handful of balls fly out from nowhere - some great ideas coming in now.

All the best
Paul

Can this device be used to shoot a 24" Rice Silk into the air. If so how high will it travel. I can see if this goes a distance, this will be good for misdirection purposes.

My question is as in, silk shoots out, caught as it flutters down, or can it shoot out and be caught with the correct timing.

If the above is possible, how many devices can be used in an act, without interfering with dove productions?

Hello
Yes - on the promotional video I send a 24" silk high in the air and catch it easily. This was shot outside and it went very high. I also had another one simply "pop" out of my pocket rather than send it shooting up - so many different things you can do with this. You should be able to catch it with correct timing if you practice.

Can you "hide" it in a card case ?

This is way better than having to 'hide' something in a card case - which would not be that great because you wouldn't be able to take cards from it. This enables you to certainly have something 'shoot' out of a card case though - and then leave the case to be examined if need be.
The effect would be you simply pick up a card case - at anytime in your act - either show it empty or after you've taken out a deck of cards and have something appear to fly out from it. It could be a silk, feathers, confetti or even a playing card (which we tried and works well!!)
So to answer your question - no it doesn't fit in a case but you get an incredible effect of something shooting out of it.
It would be similar to the iphone trick where I pick up my iphone showing the snowglobe and snow comes from the iphone - then I am free to put the phone down and continue on with the rest of my show - the same would be with the card case. Do this anytime and anywhere with yours or a borrowed card case.

I am curious how large the gimmick is. I work sleeveless, and I would like to hide the gimmick in a leather wrap which I tie around my wrist. Will the dimensionality allow this?

Dimension would be helpfull.

Thank you, looks great.

I would like to know if multiple devices can be side by side, as I would like to produce a silk and later have the burst for the snow storm. This looks really good and may actually be usable compared to a lot of new products on the market.

I am impressed and like to as much technical info as possible before purchase. I can easily see how this could enhance an act with multiple effects, so would not mind buying 3 or 4 units if they can be uses together in an act.

Wmhegbli One of the great features of Extreme Snowstorm is that you can use multiple firing tubes. You get one included in the set, but you can also order additional firing tubes. So you can have several set up in advance and just lock on a new one and away you go!

I've added refill canisters to the site as well today and although you can use any snowstorm tablets, we will also be adding official Extreme Snowstorm confetti packs later this week

Refills : http://www.magicshop.co.uk/p11840/Extrem......nfo.html

We supply a lot of magicians with snowstorm refills etc, and this has been a real hit in the shop. Seems a LOT of magicians are planning to use it with packs of micro sponge balls too.

Well Done Marcus and Paul, It's a great item. Highly recommended.

Hello
No, this can't be done sleeveless. HOWEVER you don't have to wear this on your wrist. I have one in my jacket pocket and shoot a silk out of that. I know a well known magician who has ordered one and will have this in his 'bag' and shoot something from that - I have also used it that way when I produce my appearing ladder as seen in the promo video.
I actually use two or three in my act for completely different uses. Again, having a silk come out of my pocket as in the video and for Snowstorm.

Dominic just gave me a great idea - love for him to share it on here:)
