I'm looking for a particular type of striped fabric to restore the inside of an old Owen's Enchanted Rabbit Hutch.
The type of fabric can be seen on the Owen web site http://www.owenmagic.com/Livestock/livestock.html in both their See Through Bunny Box and Enchanted Rabbit Hutch shown on those pages . Does anyone know of a good internet source for decorative fabrics, including this type of striped fabric ? |

How about writing Owens and asking to get the fabric from them or their source?
There are a lot of online fabric stores, but it would take a long time to search them all. Here are some: http://rosebrand.com/ http://www.cloth4less.net/ http://www.fabrics-store.com/ http://www.srfabrics.com/cottons/velvet.htm

Thanks for the links.
I tried contacting Owens once before. I'll try them again. |

If fabric doesn't work try striped wall paper.

Thanks, Jeff.
I have considered using wall paper with lamination applied to it for extra durablility . The key thing in any m _ _ _ _ r box effect is to get a pattern that has enough visual "confusion" that the edges of the thing can not be detected . I have to find that "just right" striped pattern . The wallpaper/with lamination would probably be better , because the reason I need to refurbish the thing is that the fabric interior has become soiled and discolored with various dove and rabbit droppings over the years . Laminated paper interior would be easy to wipe off . |

Even if Owen can supply the fabric, it will probably not match the original unless they bought a huge amount originally. If it is going to have to be replaced anyway, why not try cleaning it? A cleaning agent such as Oxy-Clean might be able to get the stains out without damaging the material. If it doesn't work, replace it.
I have bought a lot of fabric at Wal-Mart. They have a huge selection for a good price. You might also want to check with George Kimery at Chalet magic (www.chaletmagic.com). He uses a vinyl adhesive material in/on his illusions he likes to call "Tuff Cote". It comes in a limited number of striped patterns, and he might just have some. If not, he should be able to help you find a source. Hope this helps. Amos McCormick

Buy illusion work videos.
Are awesome and talk about the material you are requesting. |

Dai,
Dare to be different! There has GOT to be a million different choices beyond the stock Owen's material. I am a huge fan of Owen's but always thought that paticular pattern was kind of lame. Look around, scan the net and I am sure you will find something even better. You mentioned droppings soiling the material. This may be a good time to NOT use a cloth type material and find an easier cleaning synthetic. I will look around and see what I can find. I will let ya know if I have any luck. Chance wolf
