Its also very similar to stand up comedy. Attraction, laughter, and being fooled, simply can't be helped if the one who is making you do these things are a master at what they do.
Its only a numbers game to say that one gets better with practice. But its not a numbers game to say that your success rate doesn't increase when you learn to prefect the principles in use. |

I've seen arguments around this before. The whole "PUA" thing comes across as superficial to a lot of people. But when you realize some of the "rules" are "shower, shave, clean your nails, and dress well," you start to realize what the system is geared for; it's really an aid for people who, for whatever reason (inexperience, Asperger's, etc.) lack social skills and empathy. Most people don't need to be told to clean up and dress well before heading out on the town... unless they're socially awkward and really don't have a clue that they should.
I've heard it compared to a dating guide for high-functioning autistics. The acronymns and lingo lets them approach it with the same enthusiasm they'd approach their favorite RPG. It turns an awkward social situation into more of a point system, a game framework, and it helps them be more confident. And of course that makes them more successful, because the confidence shows.

How many people get into the business because when they were younger they where socially incompetent? Someone learned a joke, they felt the power, so they perfected the skill. Or someone learned a trick, they felt the power, and they perfected the skill. Yes these rules are often explored and expounded on and taught by people who are more analytical and are therefore not naturals. But that doesn't say the rules are not real. They are real, just like the rules of comedy and magic are. And some of the best comedians and magicians in the business are people who are not naturally funny or deceptive. So since the topic is "does this stuff work". Yes it does. The rules of attraction are real and anyone can get better by learning them. |

And as a magician this stuff can help you out so much in your business as well as the magic itself. In fact it was a network of very successful magicians you would know who turned me on to this stuff. You're probably just being argumentative like I am but try to criticize what PUA's actually claim. You might find yourself realizing its not a load of crap. |

"I got married at 22, and I got divirced at 42. It took about 6 to 9 months before several women caught on, and started stalking me. Women in their 40's are relentless pursuers. The older you get the better the odds are for men, because the world is full of lonely womwn. "
I'll second this. I was married for 21 years and separated. On my own for the first time at age 55, I was like a kid in a candy shop. I dated many times a week, women from their 30's on up. I could have dated every night if I had wanted to: being straight, available, in your 50's and living in New york, you are like a high school cheer leader. I had incredible adventures and all the "love" I wanted. I finally met the girl of my dreams, we are one month apart in age and I've never been happier. We met online. |

IMHO folks are better off starting with basic NLP skills, rapport and anchoring, noticing Satir postures, getting some awareness of their own situation before creating a character and script for PUA activities. The basic questions are "what do you desire", "what will you do after you get that", and "then what will you desire". After that it's "what's in it for them", and "what do you want for them after you have what you desired"? Ecology. Not being judgmental about PUA lure/alure satisf(action) as its own activity.
