I agree with all the above post that this is an exceptional trick. Super easy to do and great reactions. This is again one of those items that you wonder why you didn't think of it. You will not go wrong with this trick.

I reviewed the BIP book earlier in this forum - check it out - it's SUPERB. The guy who invented this sold a few of them privately - I picked one up (well actually, two - in case one wore out - it's THAT good you'll want a spare).

How is this routine different from the Annemann / Mark Strivings routines, "Par Optic Vision" and "Par Optic Plus"?
I own those and don't want to spend another $18 if there is no substantial difference. I do know that the methods are at the very least related, so I also wonder if there is any mention of this in the TI instructions. Thanks for your help. You could PM me if you don't want to discuss it publicly. Steve H

Hi Steve,
I know and like both the Annemann original 'Par-Optic Vision' as well as Strivings' update from his 'Annemann for the 90s' video and booklet. They both work well. T.I. was designed to accomplish a different effect though; that of predicting three random cards and which three random pockets a spectator would choose to put them into. Please note, this IS the effect. As a consequence of this being a prediction effect rather than Annemann's divination effect, the method I devised allows a very hands-off, clean and direct selection procedure. My inspiration was a Ken Krenzel effect and the credits in the instructions reflect this. I did not feel it neccessary to list all the similar(ish) methods for different effects of which I am aware. Certainly, neither Annemann nor Strivings were a consideration when I was developing T.I. Methodologically (only), part of T.I. is related to P.O.V. but not anywhere near enough that you would be disappointed with purchasing T.I. In fact, I think you would probably feel quite the opposite once you read the method and the subtleties involved. Although, of course, I would say that! Hope this information is of help, Regards, Matt |

Matt:
Thank you very much for the update. I also received an email from an impartial person who verified that the methods are different and definitely worthy of investment. I'll be getting your routine. Thanks again, Steve H

A question on your handling at the beginning of this trick. When you take your cards out of the deck, do you do a false shuffle or false cuts or what do you do to let the spectator know that the cards are mixed? I don't think you can just take the deck out and have them to cut the deck. What is the best way to begin with the deck and keep it in order?

You can easily false shuffle just the bottom and/or top stock. I then spread the deck face up to the beginning of the setup, saying, "If i had you select some cards like this, of course I would be able to see them, too!" I close the spread and flip the deck over. I spread the top 10-12 cards and take them in a spread in my right hand, displaying them to the spec, saying, "And maybe you think I know what order these cards on top are in." I shuffle the top stock and drop it onto the deck and do a false cut, going into the routine as explained in the instructions.
Works for me!

hi, i have been reading about all the postings on triple impact and i must say i am very impressed....
just 2 questions here: i might have missed it and i apologise if i missed it, question 1 but can this gimmicked deck be ribbon spread to show they are different before letting the spectator cut the deck and choose his cards? question 2 Must the 3 cards be consecutive cards at where he cut the deck? thanks eric

Yes, briefly, and yes.

Scott as far as the false shuffle of the top and bottom. Are you keeping breaks below the top stock and a break above the bottom stock then just switching the bottom and top stock? I am not sure what you mean by false shuffling just the top or bottom stock.

No. I mean you are shuffling part of the deck fairly and the rest not at all while seemingly shuffling the entire deck fairly. Virtually any basic card book teaches false shuffles that will work. Anyone who owns this effect will readily see how to apply them.
Look, guys, clearly this uses something other than just a straight deck of cards. We cannot spell out exactly every little detail of what you can and can't do without exposing the workings. You can't leave the deck for thorough examination without a switch. But it is structured in such a way that nobody will want to see the deck. Further, I suggest you use it only as a closer, and as such, it makes sense that you put the deck away, accept your applause (and you WILL get applause!) and pack up and leave! Suffice to say that it is an exceptionally strong routine to which I give my very highest recommendation.

I performed this last night for the first time as a closer..... WOW!! brilliant reactions!!!. This is ssooooooooo easy to perform, you really can't go wrong with this effect. 10/10 , what more can I say other than BUY THIS!!!!!!!! All I recommend is really get your patter down, you don't even have to think about the workings of the effect because there are no moves - just concentrate on the performance and you will have some amazing fun with this. One of the best I think.

Hi, bought it and I must say it is a very good routune.... did it for a couple of times and the reactions I get is "wow"....
only one thing though... you have to instruct the spectator where to put the first card.... but this is a minor issue considering the effect you can perform... highly recommended.. eric
