Thanks to Duane Laflin for passing this on:
"I have some important news. The man who owns the theater I perform in asked that I share it with the magic community. In short story form...the person who owns the Titanic attraction across the parkway ...from us in Pigeon Forge has made the decision to put in a huge new attraction in the same area. To make this happen he purchased our theater and the theaters on either side of us. The plan is to level the theaters and put in the new attraction. This means "Magic Beyond Belief" theater will be no more in January. The deal was profitable for our company, but it means the show ends. So...if at all possible come see us in December. The girls and I will be performing every show from November 30 onward. Also, we go back on the road starting January...if you know anyone who might book us for lecture or show...we'd appreciate it." Sean Paul and Julianne will be performing the shows until November 30, and Duane and Mary will perform the Christmas program in Dec. It was a sad day when Terry Evanswood left, and a much sadder day now.

Wow, this is sad. Thanks for the notice Scott. I hope I can get down there and see Duane's show it before it closes.

Hopefully on to better things! You did not close for lack of interest, only a large scale change in company direction. Good luck in the future.

Terry Evanswood is still across the street at Wonderworks, and I am at Dollywood. We will be the only two magic shows left in the Smokies. But magic is alive and well here!

Sorry to hear this. It is always bad for all magicians when a magic show closes. We heard great things about this magic show and the others as well. We were even thinking of taking a break to visit Pigeon Forge and possibly visit John Calvert and Tammy in Kentucky as well.
Sometimes something that seems negative at first, is only a door closing that then leads one to bigger and better things. Let us hope that is the case here. Regardz, Dick Brookz & Dorothy Dietrich

Wow, that is downright gloomy and heartbreaking.

Thanks for the well wishes, its been an amazing experience. Its been my honor to work with some very talented magicians. A tip of the top hat to Terry, Sean Paul and Duane.
I hope you all can visit us again before the end of the year. |

I will be there this month for Sean Paul and Julianne's show, and I will be there in Dec for Duane & Mary's Christmas show.
Mr Brooks, I would urge you to still consider visiting us. Let me know when you are coming, and I will show you guys the town! Thanks, Regan. Come out and see me next time you are in the area. Let me know when you are coming, and I can show you around too! But then again, you know the area well! David has a shop in Gatlinburg, and I am at Dollywood. How's that for a change of places? He recently had back surgery, but I think he is on the mend and doing well. You should check out his shop. He is still the same funny guy!

Unfortunatly, we did not get to go to Dollywood this time though. We stayed mostly in Gatlingburg, but I was able to attend Duane's Christmas show. I just can't say enough about the professionalism he....and his entire cast and crew displayed. You won't find a nicer group of entertainers anywhere either! I'm so glad you passed on the alert about Magic Beyond Belief's plan to close. It made me determined to see Duane's show, and I am so thankful I got to. I would urge anyone to try and see Duane's Magical Merry Christmas Show if you have a chance. I really hate to see the theatre close, and I sure hope they will open another theatre in Pigeon Forge that is dedicated to magic. Surely the area can support just one. I did get to go into your old shop and see Doc and his sons while I was in town. I also went to David's shop, but he was not in that day. I think there are more magic shops in the area than I ever remember. I vistited 4 and that doen't even count the one you operate now in Dollywood. I just hope someone will build or convert another theatre for magic. The area needs one. Thanks again, and best of luck at your new Dollywood gig! Regan

What a shame... Took my kids there a few years ago. They had a blast. We are heading back after Easter and we were planning on catching another show.

Terry Evanswood moved to another theater across the street called Wonder World. See his new Website http://www.terryevanswood.com/ which will premiere in 8 days.
