Incompetent! Now the cop is not professional!>? Oh lord.
Was it professional to just dismiss Penn when as it has been said HE was the one with the complaint? You just throw out accusations and you have no idea what the terms you want to talk about are. Then you get angry. Sorry but to say the cop acted unprofessional and is incompetent is just wrong. Simply because he wants to take a complaint. And IF he said it AFTER he was told not too, which as John said is in doubt then it is as close to out of line as he got. Certainly not incompetent. You just throw these things about like they are meaningless then say "I really have nothing more to say". How about you were wrong and had no idea what constituted assault and battery? You obviously had NO idea.

Where have I gotten angry, Danny? From where I sit, you seem to be the one popping a vein.
"Was it professional to just dismiss Penn when as it has been said HE was the one with the complaint?" No, he should not dismiss a complaint. I never said he should dismiss Penn. But the cop should proceed objectively. Please stop making things up and insinuating that I said or did them. (You sound more and more like a certain cop.) "Sorry but to say the cop acted unprofessional and is incompetent is just wrong. Simply because he wants to take a complaint." OMG. I never said that it was because he wanted to take a complaint. I said it because he falsely accused the TSA agent of doing something that the agent did not do. AFTER he had been corrected on this point once already. Danny, I admit, I did not know the official definition of assault and battery. Now will YOU finally answer this simple yes or no question: "Was the cop right to falsely accuse an individual of committing a criminal act [i.e., touching Penn's "crank" without permission] in this situation, let alone in front of his supervisor? Yes or No?" It is a more or less free world where we live. So you are free to answer Yes if that is what you believe. If that is how you feel, that's fine. As I've previously said, I am inclined to answer No.

OH just yes or no right?
Not a chance I am answering a loaded question with yes or no. So HERE is the answer AGAIN. The thing that John points out that perhaps the word for word recollection of what happened was not right has to play into this. Penn is telling story for effect, which he did when the cop GOT THERE! So out of context is it right to do what you said, no. BUT in context his supervisor (the one you want to make this all about for whatever reason) was standing right there when Penn said he didn't (paraphrasing here ) "touch his junk". So the cop saying it, made NO difference in one way or the other to the supervisor because he already heard Penn say it didn't happen. So can we dispense with you trying to make it worse than it was? You seem to think that as soon as the cop says it the supervisor forgets what he already heard. Come on. He did NOT falsely accuse anyone of anything. The only "crime" he "accused" him of was ASSAULT AND BATTERY and he was RIGHT! I do not think the cop is the one with too much power, it was the rent a cop.

Well, Penn's "situation" has been getting some more attention in "real" media (as apposed to a magic chat board) in light of recent events.
http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1011/19/sitroom.02.html I didn't see it myself, but that's the (rushed) transcript.

We will settle it this way. Penn said it was the crotch area, Balducci, please let us know what part of the crotch region is okay and at what point it becomes a violation of the law. This may be useful in court "Your honor, I didn't do nuttin' wrong, I was a good three inches from her...yazoo if ya get my drift"

Here's what probably really happened:
The TSAgent probably caught a glimpse of Penn's lower back tattoo and therefore he was perfectly within his rights to touch crotch due to the "asking for it" (2002 California, Madonna v Spears) clause. Penn forgot about that night in Tijuana so he didn't realize until later that he had, by chauvinist law, been "asking for it" the whole time. Obviously, Penn has since become aware of his mistake and written an apology letter to the TSA because that's the kind of stand up guy he is. Since this incident, Teller has invented the full body scanner to avoid any similar misunderstandings in the crank grabbery department. There. All better.
