Hey guys,

Does anyone know of any resources, DVDs or publications for flourishes or manipulation with cigarettes and also for Zippo lighters?

Any leads would be much appreciated.

Tom Mullica published a complete set of Cigarette magic DVDs that is very extensive. Search "Expert Cigarette Magic" Tom Mullica, it looks like they reduced the extensive 14 or so tapes to 3 DVDs, I may be mistaken about that.

There is only one flick opening of a Zippo lighter that I ever knew of and that was learned as a kid. Snap your fingers with the ligher in between your fingers. This was kind of thing that you see someone do it and you practice it yourself until you get it without dropping the lighter. That was how we did it in the midwest USA.

Keith Clarks Encyclopedia of Cigarette Magic and Tom Mullica's DVD are the only extensive publications on the subject. There are a few old booklets like Lloyd Cigarette Magic and Abbott's Cigarette Magic booklets.

Cigarettes are taboo here in the USA, most dealers and manufacturers have removed cigarette magic from their catalogs.

I am unaware of any flourish type material for Cigarettes, the best thing Tom Mullica did was his cigarette pitch to spittoon in his act. Hit the opening every time.

Thanks wmhegbli, I'll try and get a hold of those! I know it's all Taboo these days, but this is for a sequence in a movie, whilst I know the basic cigarette manipulation moves, I was looking for some new stuff, some nice flourishes to add to it all and also some Zippo stuff. (also have to learn some type of flourish with a plastic dinosaur!!! ...this stuff is never straight forward!! ;-)

Dave,

Gonna phone you later today as I have a book (Expert Cigartette Magic 1939!!) that might have something in it that's useful. Don't get your hopes up though... but your're welcome to have it if you want it.

Cheers Neal.

There is some lovely(understatement) stuff in Slydini's book with cigarettes. The moves can be adapted for use standing up.
