Whew!- it's a trick a minute podcast #26- pretty cool stuff. OK, ok, I admit it, I only have one "Christmas" program scheduled to do (and it's next Monday night for a large homeless shelter)- I love your idea of producing a small Christmas tree out of a square circle- nice! Maybe I'll put reindeer ears on my bunny. Lots of ideas with Christmas themes- the six card repeat using Christmas cards is a great idea too- I know that Laflin sells a six card repeat version if you want to see how the cards can be made up like he sells them.

Hey- that's an idea!- Contact your local Gospel mission/homeless shelter- volunteer put on a Christmas Gospel magic show for the kids! Fortunately- I got invited to do one- but you may want to call your local shelter to set one up. A great time for the program is on Saturday mornings- the kids are home from school and there is not much for them to do (at least at the local shelter) except watch tv on Saturday mornings... MagicBob and I went table hopping at a free food shelter several months ago- the folks eating really seemed to enjoy what we did and we both ended up in some meaningful conversations/prayers/prayer requests with some there as well. Lots of opportunities this time of year for sure. One gruff guy that started out heckling me during an opening card trick- I ended up being in a long heartfelt conversation with afterwards.
Merry Christmas everyone- by the way- have you checked out the million+ watched youtube video yet where all these different people sitting in a Canadian mall food court start singing from Handel's Messiah the "Hallelujah Chorus"?- it was on Fox and Friends this morning as well. Great stuff. |

On 2010-12-07 15:05, MagicBus wrote: I've been doing the routine, and found that the stacking of cards inside themselves does not work as smoothly as the traditional 6-Card Repeat method. If you cut off the back, and only have the front of the card on the cards you keep in the pocket cards, it might work better. I only use "5 Cards" and take away three. I do this four times. Message is that I found the perfect Christmas card, (and read the message on it..."the Wise Men came with treasure of earth in their hands and left with the treasure of Heaven in their hearts")...as say I was excited and wanted to send it to everyone I knew...but they only had 1-2-3-4-5 cards. So I bought them...wrote out 1-2-3...but found I still had 1-2-3-4-5 cards left. (This is repeated three times) Then at the end I say something like..."And as it turned out, I had enough cards for all my friends and family." (fan out all the cards)..."But then something happened...I woke up. But even though the story of the cards wasn't real...the fact that the Wise Men came with treasure of earth in their hands and left with the treasure of Heaven in their hearts is true...and hopefully all of you will have the same thing happen this Christmas Season." The cards cost me 5 bucks at Walmart, but I had to modify them all, as they had cut outs in the corners of the cards. I loved the message so much, that I went through the effort. However, if you find cards with wise men on the front, you could write that in one of the cards and read it. ><> J

Yes...I've heard that, however I'm having difficulty changing it. No clue what happened in the uploading process. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
Thanks ><> J

This may be a recent development because I am quite certain I listened to the entire podcast when it was first posted.

Episode 29 is now up...completely. Why it worked now and didn't before is a mystery to me. But hey...that is what this artform is all about.
Thanks for everyone's patience. ><> J http://www.themagicpodcast.com
