Hi Carlo,
The premise behind iPredict is . . . you're looking up the psychic's phone number in your contacts list. The action is motivated since you would have a phone number in the contact list of your phone. Hence, that action is never questioned. If it WAS magic and not a tech trick then . . . The magi would introduce a psychic's phone number, someone would name a card, and when the psychic is called, the psychic reveals the card. If this was done 50 years ago, then the psychic's number would be written down in a day planner. But today, it's in your contacts list. I hope that helps you see this in a different light. The reason the guy in the demo suggested cameras , is because he knew he was being filmed by one for the you tube demo so he knows they were at least in someway in the proximity. When we perform this it wont be being filmed in the main so spec will not even think that way IMO. Regards Gary

A long while back I had Larry Becker and Lee Earle's Influence U 2, some folks came to the conclusion that there may have been hidden cameras or that the person on the other end of the phone was somehow secretly hiding somewhere in the vicinity. It's just basic normal people logic. They have a list of obvious solutions to the problem at hand and then start ticking off the boxes. It has nothing to do with cameras being there filming or not. Now personally, I don't find it an issue when they say something like "hidden cameras?" or start looking around for a person in hiding or a hidden camera. It doesn't take away from the effect. They can either keep on thinking it but still be nagged with doubts or they may just work out that even hidden cameras would have been impossible after surveying the area. |

Many years back I was sitting in a small parking garage office in Newark NJ by a window with blinds on it. A Newark cop did the Mr Wizard card trick and when I was told the name of the card I selected, I immediately turned and looked at the window thinking it was spotted with binoculars or something through the window. Not that far fetched really thinking the way cheaters use peeking methods through holes, ceiling tiles etc. So Im with kissdadookie on this one. Its really the 1st thought that comes for most as being logical if not actual true magic.

Another thing with that whole theory of the cameras being there giving the spectator's an out with hidden cameras. If the camera is blatantly there, staring at everyone in the face, why in tarnations would they think that there are hidden cameras? There's a camera right there to begin with! This is just another example of how the "hidden cameras" solution that folks come up with is simply inherent to this kind of effect as opposed to the spectator's observing what is presently around them.

If you are using a M... D... for instance , as far as the spectator knows you don't even know the card until the wizard reveals it ! Spec does not even need to look at the card themselves until after the reveal, so a camera cannot see a thing even if it wanted to !

Hi nanasway,
I like your idea of a M... D... If I was gonna do the iPredict demo video again, I would probably use a M... D... take care, Greg Rostami |

Kudos to Greg for a wonderful effect.
I admit to being skeptical about the demo video, in which the phone call revealed the Spectator's card without Greg's apparently having any prior knowledge. At first this led me to be disgruntled: after purchasing the app, I mistakenly concluded that I must first require the Spectator to tell me his/her chosen card... Not so. Greg makes available to you a diabolically clever, if better known to some than to me until now, method which makes it all work just as depicted in the video. Very powerful. In fact, I now use the same approach with Mental Killer, able to present either effect as if the performer has no clue as to the identity of the removed-and-hidden card until the "prestige". I got an explosive "NFW" reaction from a group of kids outside a restaurant with this today. In my experience, both effects are wonderful (and can be done, if slightly less wonder-filled, without an actual deck in hand). As with all effects, it's in the presentation. |

So is iPredict going to be released in the UK?

Hi Simon,
Unless iPredict is more successful in the US, I don't know how we're ever going to get the UK version out. For iPredict to work in the UK, I need to invest about $1,100 just in phone services to get it running there. So far iPredict hasn't even come close to making that kind of money in the US. I hope things change so that we can bring iPredict to other countries. Greg Rostami |

Can it not be made available for Overseas users to have it,
as long as they are prepared for the international call costs? Maybe there's a technical reason why this is not feasible, but it would be a good incentive to use the specs phone instead of your own LOL. Steve |

I'm not the developer, but I see no reason why it won't work internationally. It's just a call to the US.

Manes, I too have iPredict, but I don't recall anywhere in the instructions that tell me how to do the effect without the spec saying the card out loud. Am I missing something somewhere? I too would like to do it as in the demo. Otherwise, I find that this is a great effect, a nice compliment to my Mental Killer app . . .
Posted: Dec 5, 2010 8:47am Sorry, my question was directed at mjanes. Darn auto correct on my iPad changed it to Manes . . .
It would really be quite tragic

To "theboywonder" regarding the timing of when the spectator reveals their selected/hidden card. This marvelous effect --- and it truly is a marvel --- can be presented exactly as shown in Greg's demo video. In other words, the spectator or group of spectators selects any card, hides it, and makes the phone call using their own phone, then listens to the correct prediction BEFORE anyone, including the performer, is shown the selected card. That's what makes it so powerful. The purchased version, at this moment, does not yet include an instructional video --- coming soon --- in which additional secret methodology is provided. Until that occurs, simply e-mail Greg who will fill you in. (Greg, please correct me if I'm wrong, or go ahead and tip the additional approach here, if that is your wish.)
In any case, prospective purchasers should know that iPredict unfolds exactly as it appears in the video. And it really amazes. In fact, it's very easy and appropriate for the performer to play innocent and share in the amazement.... !! Cheers, Marc |

Hi mjanes,
Thank you for your kind words about iPredict. As you said, the routine that's highlighted in the demo teaser video, will be explained in the upcoming instruction video of iPredict (sorry about the delay). If you haven't deduced the method yet, I'm using a Si Stebbins stack to determine the missing card. Recently, I perform that routine differently. I have the spec remove the card from the stacked deck but don't look at it. I turn my back as they remove the card and have them put the card away. So when I turn back around, I show everyone that the cards are normal. The specs doesn't know which card they've chosen, and they think that I don't know either. At the end of the routine, when I have them call Esmeralda, as the voicemail starts playing, I have them look at their card for the first time, and a few seconds later Esmeralda reveals their card. This plays VERY STRONG, and it resolves the false method of "a VERY good camera saw which card I had selected"!! enjoy, Greg Rostami Posted: Dec 5, 2010 4:17pm Hi steveline, It would be very easy for us to make iPredict available to the WORLD. As you stated, we foresee people getting REALLY upset with international phone calls every time they perform iPredict. Greg Rostami |

Greg, Still getting nowhere with the instructions for I Predict; it doesn't appear to be doing what it is supposed to be doing. Have Pm'd you again but, alas, no answer yet. When I press the + as requested it just gives up the ghost on me!
Cheers Martyn

Hi Mystification,
We do have plans to release iPredict on the Android OS. At the present time, I'm afraid there is no ETA. But, iForce is available for sale on the Android Market. Greg Rostami Posted: Dec 16, 2010 12:20am Hello friends . . . Apple today approved iPredict V. 1.02 This version addressed the rare duplicate contacts problem that some people have reported. We also looked further into iOSes that are older then 3.2 We think we solved all of the problems that our users were having with older iPhones or iPod Touches. If you have upgraded iPredict to the latest version, please let me know if it fixed your problems by either posting here or PMing me. Thank you, Greg Rostami |
