Ok. Here's messing with reincarnation for you. Don't go further if you don't believe in it. And certainly don't if you can't take the following with a grain of salt. Because you're going to need an entire silo full.
The Masked Magician, Val Valentino, is my own, dear, loving, Eternal Soulmate. Now, I know you're saying or but it's true. I've decided to about it. I found out about the connection through a series of Past Life Regressions. We met over 600 years ago. That's why I go when anyone lays it on too heavy. But I'm sure you don't want me to go into details. I'm all on the subject right now, but if you do want me to go into details later, that's fine. I'll just go to bed now, because I know I will be facing lots of soon. |

But I'm sure you don't want me to go into details. Well, as a practicing Buddhist, I certainly believe in reincarnation, although I'm a bit skeptical on the "Past Life Regression" thing, since I'm also aware of how easy it is to plant false memories using hypnotism. But I'm curious to what "Valentino" was up to 600 years ago? Obviously he's working through some serious karmic issues this lifetime (and probably incurred a few more karmic debts besides).

I am glad you're all taking this nicely. It makes me feel better, now that I am out of the box. I am also glad to say that I could laugh with you all .
So you really want to know what Val was up to when I first met him? Sure, why not? I bet you won't be surprised in the least. Somehow, I wasn't. Here's how the story goes. Back in the 14th century, I was a Queen. My parents were dead and I was holding a ball to find myself a husband. I was sitting on my throne, bored to death, when a guy walks in. Black hair, dark-colored eyes, black clothes and pale skin. Guess who? I was smitten, and we later got married. Back then, he was Wiccan, and he promised me that he would teach me how to be like himself, as soon as we were married. He carried out his promise. One fine day, when he had gone riding, I got out my Tarot cards. I wanted to know how I had fallen in love with him so fast and so hard. Guess what? That little bugger had stuck a love spell on me. I was *****! But, I won't tell you how I got revenge. Just goes to show you that some people never change... |

How come everybody who claims to be reincarnated used to be a queen, a wizard, or a noble of some sort?

I was a thief, and a con artist, which is probably why I'm so good at the monte. Ah, how I miss the old days! Dressing as a duke and pulling the Spanish Prisoner on rich society matrons.
Interesting to note that Valentino looked exactly the same in his former life. In the cosmic realm of infinity, everything you can imagine has actually happened somehwere, so--with that in mind--I believe everything you said Valentina. Jim |

I meant to tell you guys before, thank you for talking to me. You're all wonderful. Peter, can you tell me what you are famous for? Your name sounds familiar.
Yes, I do believe that it is QUITE interesting how he managed to look like himself. Only for the fact that he's a Latino now. *********** Amazing what a day full of meetings can do for you. This just struck me this morning. See what you think. Sometimes, we have to change the way we think and act. No matter how two people are bound together, whether by love, by blood or by soul; sometimes, we need to change for the better. We might need to go a different direction to change for the better, no matter who we hurt along the way. I certainly did not ask to be put in the position that I am in. I was forced there, through spells and other magicks. Only in the last few months, have I really come to terms with what was done to me. Sometimes, I feel like I love Valentino, more than anyone in the world. Others, I am angry and cry with the hatred of the position that I have been forced into. My heart is torn asunder. Part of me says that I have to be loyal and loving, defending him always. Part of me says that I was forced into this without my will or consent. Therefore, I should hate Valentino and remain loyal to my brothers and sisters in magic. I know not what to do. If I love, I am disloyal. If I am loyal, I do not love. Yet, how can anyone love Valentino for what he did, both then and now? Why did he pick me, of all people? Sure, I realize that at the time, all he wanted to do, was to be King. Why did he have to make it permenent, though? Did he know that (supposedly) I would have unwavering love and loyalty in the future? You know, it is Valentino's fault that I am even here right now. I was a Catholic Queen, happy in my own right, sure to go to Heaven when my time came. Now I am a Witch, bound to him and bound to repeat life forever more. Maybe I should have committed suicide back when I considered it, during the time I was fighting with Kevin Spencer. I do not want to go through this, again and again. It has to end. ---- "If you were a King/Up there on your throne/Would you be wise enough to let me go?/For that Queen you think you own/Wants to be a hunter again/Wants to see the would alone again..." -Dido |

Valentina,
"Famous for"? "Guilty of" might be more to the point! Anyhow, for the past dozen years I have written the Showtime column in the Linking Ring magazine and, more recently, also the Bizarre Bazaar column for the e-zine Visions (www.online-visions.com). And, while it doesn't rank with reincarnation, Tony Slydini was a second cousin (his real name was Quintino Marucci and his father and my grandfather were brothers). But I was not Tony in a previous life; neither was I Akhenaton, Charlemagne, or Vlad the Impaler! (Although I do kind of like the Vlad thing!) cheers, Peter Marucci showtimecol@aol.com |

Valentina, as a bit of a Latin scholar in a previous existence (not Life), I was also surprised that as the 'President Emeritus' of said august body, your were a little careless in your intro page about the spelling of such an impressive title. (Also that it hadn't been changed to EmeritA - but maybe I'm getting too grammatical here).
As to Past Lives - I'd like to counter the calumny which appears above, that everyone was previously some sort of noble. As Richard Webster mentions on his C.R. CD, there is a psychic lady in his home town who tells everyone they were a Soldier at the Cross of Christ. As he also goes on to say - 1. Boy, it must have been crowded, and 2. Weird how they all came from HIS town, huh? (Bear in mind here, his hometown's in NEW ZEALAND). Yours, concerned only with this life and the Next, Mr S |

Hey, I decided to make it easier on y'all (I've been to Florida too much). I've created a journal for you to read on what we've been talking about, and, to continue it on I have also been back-logging (as they seem to call it), so that I may add some insights from my own personal journal that I keep for day-to-day use in my bedroom. Share it with your friends: http://www.livejournal.com/users/MagicMaven17
And, since you have all taken your silo full of salt, I can call you my closest friends. As my closest friends, I trust you to keep your magicians code of honor (as in, don't "Do A Val") with this site. It contains some of my more personal material. http://www.livejournal.com/users/VdL Thanks! |

Peter, re;
"How come everybody who claims to be reincarnated used to be a queen, a wizard, or a noble of some sort? Nobody was ever a peasant!" Using info from Webster's book, Cashing in On Past Lives, I regressed my ex wife back to 2 past lives some years ago, and also a friend. In not one of these regressions did they turn out to have been famous people! Interesting stuff, with no information suggested to them by me. And certainly information given that my ex would not have known about from the period. I think she only read about 2 books in her life. Valentina, since you were tricked by a love spell all those years ago, surely a simple solution (?)is to cast a counter spell, a spell to break its power. Then , you no longer have to be such a tortured soul. Why do I feel like I'm in a Twilight Zone episode? Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.lol I hope I wasn't a Queen in a past life. I believe in reincarnation. I've had other lives. I know. I have clues. First of all, I'm exhausted!....(Carol Siskind)
Do you believe in reincarnation? (yes) "Well, welcome back!" Do you believe in reincarnation? (no) "No, I didn't the first time I was here either." I'm sure my wife had a past life and I think she was rich. Cause she still spends money like we have it. Twilight Zone? Rod Serling? In his last interview, four months before his death, Serling was asked about reincarnation. He said, "I don't believe in reincarnation. That's a cop-out. . . . I anticipate death will be a totally unconscious void in which you float through eternity with no particular consciousness of anything." |
