I once saw one of the "Great Magic of Las Vegas". There was a magician there who had pretty cool music. I don't remeber his name, but his act was with doves. At the beginning he produced a sword and then produced a dove from the sword. He also ate razorblades, I think.
Does any one remeber that?

I have a bunch of videos in my own collection. I can try and see if I have that one. My only question for you would be, why the interest in another magician's music? Always find music for yourself that is original and perfect for your style and character. Be different.

It might be one of the following:

Ayala,
Jonathan David Bass,
Tony Clark.

To name a few. You weren't very specific in your post.

Tor, I know you are making this act for a competition - which is even more reason to find music that fits you!

I certainly was not Ayala. I know him personally and he does not do doves in his act. It is sounding a lot more like it may have been tony claark or more closely david Bass.

Once again though, find music that fits your own style and personality and matches what you are doing on stage. Find music that is original.

Yes, Kyle, he does not use doves, but I have seen him with swords in the past.

Probably Tony Clark!

You can contact him at his website. He's quick to respond.

Tony clark does use a dagger, he impales a card on it, which ignites and turns into a dove. The act I saw didn't use razor blades, and his opener was with a mask.

For the record - Tony Clark's music has been dovetailed to fit his act (no pun intended Smile ). If you don't know what I mean, think of the 'twinkly' and 'sparkly' parts which have been mixed in. His whole act is choreographed, and it is choreographed very nicely indeed! Smile

Kevin you are correct. Ayala does a sowrd sequence in his act and does some nice dagger productions and sword productions as well as splitting of silks off of the swords and fire daggers.

The great part that Kevin mentioned was that Tony has spent the time to have his music be original and perfectly fit his act. Good music should fit the act like a good pair of gloves. Please refrain yourself from using music you have heard other magician's use. Be original and find the music that best fits your own style and character.

Also, try to avoid Cirque du Soleil music at all costs. This stuff has been used and copied by so many magicians, it's not even funny.

Go to a record store and listen to some stuff you normally would not listen to. Whenever you hear a song, think "Would that work for part of my act or my routine?".

It is also said not to use current, popular songs. People will be distracted by the music and pay less attention to you. Good luck Tor!

Another reason not to use popular songs is that in a little while they won't be popular anymore!

I think the performer you are asking about is Jonathan David Bass, because his style would go well with razor blades, while Tony Clark is more classical, not so bizarre.

The Scot is right. When he walked on stage he wore a mask and a cape. He then produced the sword. When he produced the sword there were sparks and then the mask vanished.
I'm not going to use it for my manipulation act. I was only going to use one bit of the song. It fits perfectly to bi-section.
By the way, what is his web site?

The version of the act I saw Tony Clark perform went like this:

Tony, standing in centre stage with his back turned to the audience, when his music starts, he turns around and has a half mask on his face, there is fire from inside his hat, he removes the mask, the fire in the hat extinguishes and he follows it (invisibly) to the mask which then ignites and he tosses, it turns into a dove.

There was no sword, or no cape but this was on 'Magic Awards' for 'Best Classical Act' so maybe he performs a variation.

Best idea is to contact Tony himself.

No its not Tony Clark. This magician also did something else on that show. He dedicated a trick to his magic teacher who passed away. This magic teacher use to be a clown. He then drew a picture of a clown on a board. The clown started to animate. He then put the board infront of his face and seconds later his face was coverd with clown makeup and a clown nose.

I've actually never heard of him. Where does he perform?
