Recently, I realized that some of my client loves
ponta style performance a lot. (They loved it cuz It looked smooth and luxurious and made their party feel more luxurious) When I do coin magic, I perform like Rune Klan style but nowadays I do both rune klan(bit talkative, funny) and ponta stlye perfomance. So this is my 'style absorbing practice' video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8qqarZejBA I have my STC coin routine(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQGBBuskORE) and thinking about making one more routine with ponta's atmosphere. What do you guys think do you think it is a good idea |

That is true but
I think it is really hard to find my own stlye from nowhere I feel like I should try every stlye and know pros and cons about those and then create some of my own later. That is how I came up with my card stlye |

It may work to try out other styles, but trying a style doesn't necessarily mean imitating every nuance of someone's performance. Ponta, for example, has a very smooth and fluid presentation. You can work on becoming more fluid without losing your voice as a performer. If you just go for straight imitation, you aren't really performing, you're just miming. And what's more is that you'll find that you're always going to fall short since you'll never be as Ponta as Ponta.
As such, my suggestion stands with the others... be yourself. |

I agree with maverick you have to be yourself and let your own personality come accross this way I think you will win the spectators over because they will see that you are natural....also you will also be able to spend more time on getting everything fluid smooth and not have to worry on what to say or when to say it or try and mimic someones movements. You will find things that work for you that might not work for someone else.

Dog, when your journey begins to turn from a hall of portraits to a hall of mirrors as to your style then what the others say in pretty much one voice to you here will be clearest. It's a bit of a journey but you will get there I'm sure. Your true power comes from within.

Dogical, have you seen this thread? It's related, hope it's helpful. I'd say AWARENESS is key, and based on the terminology you're using off the the top, ie. "copying" , you're working with quite an awareness, with an objective to learn, and grow. Great artists do that. Good for you.
