Earlier today, Dan and Dave released a download of "Monet" by my buddy Alex Pandrea. It's his take on the paintbrush change. The most unique thing about Alex's version is that it's a multiple change. You can start by showing a card (such as a Joker), change it into a selected card, and then instantly change it back into the Joker. He has a handful of applications for the change though, so that it's not "just" another color change.

This is all sleight of hand, based on Walton's Paintbrush Change. I've been watching Alex do this for awhile now, and am glad to see it finally released.

Check it out here: http://store.dananddave.com/monet-alex-pandrea.html

I have had the honor to hang with Alex a few times. He showed this to me as well as a few other magi in PA. I have to say...Monet looks better in person than the video gives credit for. I mean, this change looks soooo fluid in his hands. Glad it is out there for everyone!!!

Seeing Alex's touches on this made it one of my favorite color changes. The practicality of having such a visual change with both a single and/or double lift is very useful.

Woo hoo! thanks guys Smile I show different variations of the move including changing the card up to 4 times and also going back and forth between cards like you see in the first change of the video

I've known Alex for a few years now and all of his ideas are gold, whether it's an original trick or his handling of a classic move. Monet is no different.

This looks to me exactly like the Airbrush Change from Daniel Garcia Project vol 5.

has nothing to do with that...watch the first change in the video...it changes back and forth...cant do that with a regular paintbrush change now can you? Monet shows 5 or so variations including the reverse paintbrush change which lets you change the card twice, three times, and go back and forth between 2 cards endlessly...by the way I've shown this to Garcia and also to Bill Goodwin who loved it and tried to learn it at Magic-Con last year...just saying...

Plus, Monet and the Daniel Garcia Projects are both produced by Dan and Dave, so I'm sure Monet offers new touches on the classic Walton change.

This looks pretty *** nice in Alex's hands, I though more possibilities than the Garcia variation. Whether I can get it to look like that, another story

Saw Alex at the Session this year and seeing Monet live is eye popping, not only is Alex like 'damn!' With a deck of cards he is a super nice guy and generous with his teachings...

I hope this project goes well for you Alex,

Agreed, I met him at A convention. In his hands the stuff looks as good as video and he will help you try and learn it, in person and on the teaching vids. How many people will get the move to Alex level is another question.

I have Blue Crown downloads and they loaded fast and played perfectly. I think if you have issues, they'll guide you through.

A lot of the time people can't play downloaded video files because they don't have the appropriate codecs installed on their computers. It is possible to download codec packs (eg K-Lite, available at http://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm and other sites).

However, a good tip is to download VLC Media Player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html It is a free-of-charge media player capable of playing a lot of file types, and comes with all the codecs you should need to play any magic video downloads.

If you haven't tried using it, I would suggest giving it a go.
