I know some of you can be fairly secretive about where is the best place online to find used books. There are many. However, in the spirit of sharing, I would love to hear some of your favorites.
Thanks Trevor |

Yup, I immediately thought of H&R.

I highly recommend Michael Canick and H&R. I've done business with them a number of times and always been very satisfied with the products and level of service. In addition, if you're looking for something they don't have, they'll refer you to other booksellers who might. Class acts all the way around.

Over the years, I've found Amazon.com's Marketplace Sellers and Alibris to be good sources for used magic books -- mostly the type published for the general public.

H & R is very reputable. Ebay will offer just about anything if you're willing to wait. If you don't get into a bidding war with someone as obsessed as you, sometimes you can get an unbelievable bargain.

Abebooks.com is good, but there's an incredible meta-search engine that searches it and dozens of other independent booksellers simultaneously. Go to: http://www.addall.com (make sure to search under "used books").

Neil,
Checked out the website you suggested and you are correct it is awesome. I found prices varied greatly on some books. Thanks again for your recommendation. Rennie tr, Checked out bookfinder as you suggested and found another great used book website. The only problem I am having now is trying to locate the one book I need, The Yellow Book of Mentalism by Goldstein. This is a very hard book to find if you could help me with any ideas / suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.. Rennie

Rennie,
The Yellow Book was part of a series of 5 color pamphlets on mentalism effects Goldstein wrote back in the late 70's. They're all collector's items now commanding pretty steep prices (when you can find them). I've seen listings occassionally on E-Bay. I hope someday soon someone (maybe Phil?) does for his work what Todd Karr recently did for Al Baker's. Considering Phil's prolific output, it would surely fill several volumes... and a lot of folks would line up to buy 'em! DaveS

I'm trying to remember-- there's a used book dealer in Arizona. I think his first name is John. I've seen him at quite a few West Coast conventions, where he carries a large selection. Can anyone recall his last name, and give me contact info?
Thanks. -- Frank |
