Jim, how long is your season and what's the region? And is it ok to read funny books, if I call them comic books?

Well, The old Farmall and I have made it to Bakersfield, and will hopefully make it to Mojave early next week. We sure hope we can make it to that Tractor Show in FLA in time. I figure once we hit the desert, we can make good time--nice flat lands. Once we hit NM, we are practically there.
Now, as for your offer. I plan to suck up your wifi downloading foreign flicks with foreign subtitles--just to let you know. I also will work 15 minutes and take two hour breaks--Oh, and I want to call all the shots and act like I own the joint. As for anything involving manual labor--no can do there--my aging back and mental attitude prelude such endeavors. Other than that, we'll talk at the Tractor-rama when the ol' Farmall and I get there. Let me pick the bugs outta my teeth first, okay? As for tires, I will have a couple of used tractor tires when I get there. abigkahuna |

Well Hopefully we can get there in time. We stopped over at 4 corners there outside Boron for the night and woke up this morning and someone took the hand crank used to start the ol' tractor. Now we are stuck! I may be forced to get a job at the counter there at the Pilot Station, or maybe walk across the street and see if the guy selling mexican ceramic pigs and pots has an opening in his "sales" department. The wind is blowing and its getting cold too!

There's a show Classic Tractors on RFDTV that is enlightening the muggles (and muggers) as to the value and desireablility of old tractors...careful, there's a target on your back.

Geez Todd, first Broadway and next Prairie Dog Town. You're hogging up all the good spots. Leave something for the rest of us.

Well, we managed to sell a boatload of those brightly painted mexican ceramic pigs to the drives bys there at Four Corners. I took my take and had an on site machinist fashion a new hand crank for me, and Voila! we are on the road again. But the rains have created huge washouts, so--again we are stalled out be Adelante. A shaky town full of shadowy characters being blow around by the wind. I think I do not want to settle here and hope the weather clears so we can reach the big highway and make our way to the Tractor-Rama out there in Flori-duh in what? Two, Three Weeks?
I hope the job offer is still available by the time we get there.... Zack and Mack are leading the way, so who really knows if we will get there in time. |
