The background I used wasn't completely back. I apologize, I should have been more specific. The background was a black velvet cloth that when viewed on the camera wasn't just pure black. Its kinda hard to explain, but if you know how velvet looks like you should have a feeling for what I am talking about. I don't want to give the secret away but to me, with most backgrounds, this could be very noticable. Also I have noticed the gimmick "talks" or makes noise which isn't a big deal because if you are doing this in a area where other noises are around you, you are less likely to hear it. PM me if you have any other questions due to I don't want to expose the secret on the main forum. I will not discuss the actual gimmick because I know that George has probably put a lot of thought into this and I want to respect him and his creation.

I did want to add that this really can be a cool effect giving the right situation. I just haven't found that right environment to actually want to use it in. Stage would probably be the best but I am still trying to figure out what type of close-up environment to use it in. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I was hoping this would be good for close up as well. I guess I will wait.

Has anyone else found success with this Cup Zero, I have have a couple of parlor and stage magicians asking about this... Has anyone become adept at this illusion?

I saw this at IMX and was pretty impressed with it. And of all the things in the dealer room, this is one of the items that caught the attention of a certain "King of Magic."

This looks interesting, to people who've invested in the effect what's the setup like - more specifically can I perform it mid-set?
Also, what's the distance for this - can it rise from the floor or does it have to be table height? |
