This book has 7 routines that are Fractal Card Magic. That means tricks that end clean and the cards can be examined. It sells for $15.00 on Bannon's web site. The feature trick is MegaWave which is a non gaffed version of Bwave and Twisted Sisters. I will probably never do Twisted Sisters again. I use Bwave in giant cards in my platform act. This trick blows people away, takes some practice, like any other packet trick. As a whole, it is one of the strongest booklets I have ever read along with Bannon's similar style book called "Six Impossible Things". Riverboat Poker in "Six Impossible Things" is one of the better Poker demonstrations I have seen. I know this sounds like I am a Bannon fan. I AM.
Bannon's DVDs are great also, but I still enjoy a good book. Merl Hamen

Yup; I like Megawave, and I do enjoy all things Bannon. However, his book Smoke and Mirrors is still my favorite.

I think Bullet Party will have stuff from Mega Wave, judging by some of the stills.

Does look good. Bannon creates great magic! I'm still performing some of his earlier stuff (I'll not mention any routines by name because it seems that everyone has forgotten them which is good news for me)
Can't wait for Cardzilla!! Hopefully sometime before 2020 ;-)

There's 1 or 2 on their facebook page, but this one should have a familiar design:

After posting my review, I received an email from Richard Kaufman informing me that he deleted it. For reasons not known to me, he won't allow any reviews of Bannon's products, nor the mere mention of his name. So, here's the review:
Mega ‘Wave and Other Fractal Adventures (Book) by John Bannon $15.00 75 pages, 46 photos Available at: http://johnbannonmagic.com/newmegawave.html I’ve been a fan of John Bannon’s work for many years, so I was quite pleased when he sent me this booklet for review. The author uses the term “fractal” to describe packet tricks in which the cards can be immediately examined at the conclusion of the effect. Gee, do you suppose that definition will become part of the card conjuring lexicon? Mr. Bannon writes well and does a fine job of teaching the material. He dutifully cites appropriate attributions. He also takes the time to explain why he constructed these effects in this manner. I appreciate that glimpse into his creative process. The accompanying photos are clear and helpful. The methods require an intermediate level of technical prowess. Mega ‘Wave: The performer displays two packets of cards. One consists of four face-up Queens. The other packet is face-down, secured with a band. A participant freely names any Queen, say the Queen of Hearts. The performer twists the Queen packet, spreads it and reveals that the Queen of Hearts has turned face-down. He picks up the banded packet and removes the band. He displays the Queen of Hearts face-up among the other face-down cards. The performer removes the Queen from the packet and reveals that its back is a different color than the other cards. He shows that the other three cards are Jokers. He removes the face-down Queen from the first packet and turns it over to reveal that it is a blank card with the words “Smoke and Mirrors” written on it. Here we have the author’s handling of Stephen Tucker’s “Omega” series of effects, which are close relatives of both Mr. Bannon’s “Twisted Sisters” and Max Maven’s “B’wave”. This is a very strong, well constructed effect, with an entertaining “hocus pocus vs. mumbo jumbo” presentation. I really like it. Fractal Re-Call: The performer removes eight cards from the deck. He gives himself a hand of four face-down cards and the four other cards are set aside to represent gambler, State Street Eddie’s hand. The performer borrows the Ace of Spades from Eddie’s hand, adds it to his hand and reveals that all four of his cards have transformed into Aces of Spades. The performer places the Ace of Spades in Eddie’s hand and reveals that his hands now consists of the Aces of Clubs, Ace of Hearts, Ace of Spades and Ace of Diamonds. The performer takes back the Ace of Spades, adds it to his hand and turns his cards over to reveal a Royal Flush in Spades. This is the author’s method for performing his “Call of the Wild” effect with a normal deck. Mr. Bannon clothes the effect with a nifty gambler vs. magician presentation. I like it. Short Attention Scam: The performer displays nine red back Aces of Spades. He places four of them aside. The remaining five Aces transform into a Royal Flush in Spades. He turns over the other Aces to reveal that they each have a different colored back. This is Mr. Bannon’s revamped version of his effect “The Royal Scam”. His presentation emphasizes the power of “one fantastic move”. I like it. Mag-7: The performer displays a packet of seven blank faced cards and a Queen of Spades. As the blank cards are brought into contact with the Queen, they transform into duplicate Queens of Spades. “Return of the Magnificent Seven” was the author’s ungaffed version of “Wild Card”. He has streamlined its methodology to produce this fast-paced version. It will be up to the reader to create an entertaining presentation. I like it. Poker Pairadox: The performer displays a packet of cards consisting of the Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks. He turns over the top two cards and shows that they are not paired. He tables them face-down. He repeats this procedure with the rest of the cards, placing each unpaired duo atop the face-down packet. The performer spreads the packet and a participant selects a card. The selected card is waved over the packet. He turns over the top two cards of the packet and reveals that they are now paired, matching in value and color. He turns over all of the remaining pairs and each pair matches in value and color. This effect is Mr. Bannon’s extended version of Nick Trost’s “Matching Court Cards”. I dig his Texas Hold ‘Em presentation. It provides a topical hook, but it doesn’t require the crowd to be well versed with the procedures of my beloved game. The author’s seemingly guileless methodology features a delightfully devious displacement technique by Ryan Swigert. Mr. Bannon also includes a version in which the principle cards are removed from the deck after it is shuffled by the participant. I like it. Fractal Jacks: The performer displays a face-down packet of eight cards. He tables the bottom four cards and shows that the remaining cards are Jacks. He drops the Jacks onto the tabled cards, picks up the packet and deals the cards back and forth into two hands – one for him, one for a participant. He turns over his hand, revealing the four Jacks. He drops the Jacks onto the tabled cards and deals two more hands. He turns over his hand and again reveals four Jacks. Again, he places the Jacks on top of the tabled hand and deals out two hands. He turns over the participant’s hand and reveals that she now has the Jacks. He turns over his hand to reveal the four Aces. This is the author’s packet version of a Ron Ferris effect. The effect’s design will cause the participant to smugly conclude that the performer is using duplicate Jacks. Her self-satisfied smirk will transform into slack-jawed surprise when she sees the Aces. I really like it. Wicked!: The performer displays a packet consisting of the four Queens and the Nine of Diamonds. He turns the black Queens face-down in his left hand and inserts the Nine face-down between them, leaving it out-jogged. He holds the face-up red Queens, spread, in his right hand. His left forefinger pushes the Nine flush with the black Queens. He immediately spreads the black Queens, showing that the Nine has vanished. His right fingers spread the red Queens, revealing the Nine sandwiched between them. The performer rearranges the cards and holds them in a face-down packet. He turns over the top two cards, displaying the red Queens and then turns them face-down onto the packet. He removes the face-down red Queens and tables them. The Nine is placed face-up between the face-down black Queens and the packet is squared in the performer’s hand. He turns over the tabled Queens and reveals that they are the black Queens. He turns over the cards in his hand, revealing the Nine sandwiched between the red Queens. Mr. Bannon’s version of Paul Harris’s “Grasshopper” is well crafted and pleasing to the eye. When performing this effect, he uses a Wizard of Oz presentation. Gadzooks! Visualizing that high fructose presentation nearly sends me into hyperglycemic fits! Despite that unfortunate element of the effect, I like it. I really like the way John Bannon thinks and I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of effects. Unless you’re fractal phobic, I think you will too. So, fetch your ‘boards and catch the ‘Wave. Highly Recommended |

Richard is funny on what he allows. I had a performance of Royal Scam posted which he deleted. He said it was not a trick worth watching. I wonder what his beef with Bannon is.
