Scenario 1:
Hypothetically speaking - What would happen if a hypnotist induced somebody into a very "deep state of hypnosis", then the hypnotist had a heart attack and fell dead and there was nobody else around to find them? My question is how would the subject react to this? would they need to go to the toilet eventually and just pee themselves while slumped over? Would they eventually starve to death? Scenario 2: What would also happen if a hypnotist did a speed induction on the street to somebody, and "suggested" they stand up straight and rigid, and become like a statue. Then the hypnotist simply walked away and treated it like a horrible practical joke. ? I think I have actually seen this scenario #2 case at the casino in Melbourne a couple of years ago. I am assuming a hypnotist did this, and I'm only speculating. But a guy had security guards standing around him amongst a busy crowd of people, while he stood completely rigid and with his arms out straight like he was on a crucifix. His eyes were not moving at all. He was still like this 15 minutes later when I walked past again. This was very strange to see something like this. The reason I ask these bizarre questions is because I am simply fascinated by what I saw and how hypnosis can influence the mind. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Nothing really. Noone stays in the same 'state' permanently so the person would, after a while, simply 'wake up'.
Not that I am recommending walking off or having a heart attack! |

Scenario 1) Starve to death, THEN pee themselves. This often happens as the spirit passes into the either.
Scenario 2) I think it might have been one of those living statue street entertainers. You can always check by giving them money. If they move it IS the case. If not, check for a pulse, and of course, urine.

Usually someone will just come out of a trance with no problems naturally. However that is not always the case. I had a girl once on stage who went into a deep trance and just lay there the whole night. After the show it took 45 mins to bring her around. When she came around she didn't recognize her boyfriend or the venue. She tought she was in a shopping mall with her parents. It took another 20 mins or so to bring her completely back. I have had other occurances happen too that were unexpected and potentially dangerous. I am not alone in fact its a common occurence if you hypnotise enough people or if enough people are hypnotised in public places. that's why the UK government guidelines for safety state that hypnotist MUST be around after a show or demonstration for at least 30 mins after. To assist sorting out any problems. It also states that anybody being hypnotised must be told the nature of what they are going to be doing and that you must give them the option to say no.
To hypnotise anyone in a public place without consent and walk away is not only irresponsable or dangerous but potentially a risk for for the hypnotist being sued. Its basically assualt. I use the word "hypnotist" very loosely because they aren't really hypnotists but hacks. Another thing you will see is those amatuer dabblers (HACKS)don't really understand why or know how to remove suggestions and terminate the hypnosis properly. Another condition and guideline in the UK for public demonstrations of hypnosis. Sadly these idiots are selling crappy products that are spreading the problem. |

Once again mindpunisher confuses opinion with facts. Not all street hypnotists are badly taught, badly qualified and badly trained. Reg Blackwood is a street hypnotist and is very highly qualified, highly trained and highly skilled as are many other street hypnotists. Anthony Jacquin for one is a very talented hypnotist with a fantastic background of knowledge and training. We should be careful listening to mindpunisher because, well let's face it, he does enjoy his little soap box.

Anthony Jacquin got some of his much needed knowledge from asking questions on here. In fact its clear on his dvd that came with reality is plastic that he didn't fully understand how to manage trance. Which was confirmed a few months later when on here he asked basic questions as to why his victims were tlethargic.
It appears he is still short of a lot of basic knowledge. on MA encourages school kids and irresponsible magicians with no training to leave out proper pre-talk; screen for emotional or psychological problems; walk up to strangers in public places and attempt rapid inductions randomly; tell lies to victims who might be concerned about being made fun of then go ahead with what was planned anyway All of which are against the government guidelines for safety. And James you have a short memory it was only about 6 months ago you spoke to me on the phone by the end of the call you were agreeing with me that hypno attacks are irresponsable and potentially dangerous and for that reason you had pulled out of attending them... Or have you conviently forgotten? I haven't met Reg but he is about the only one I would say sounds professional from his posts and pms exchanged. |

Hmmm a twist of our conversation. I do think that some aspects of street hypnosis are questionable but refrain from putting everyone into the same category. You seem quite dogmatic in your belief which is something I try to avoid. I am not convinced that jumping people on street corners is a good idea but would wholeheartedly recommend a quick impromptu performance in a pub or elsewhere for that matter. Just because it's not on a stage or in a therapy room doesn't make it pointless and/or dangerous.
And please drop this assumption that longevity automatically equates to knowledge and understanding. In many fields it is the bright young spark with the new ideas that revolutionise practice. You do tend to sound somewhat like the grumpy old man complaining about the youth of today. I do respect your thoughts but they are just that, YOUR thoughs. Some poor b*ggrs here might actually believe you then we'd have loads of little MP's running around the place and that just wouldn't do!
