I am looking for some nice replica Morgan silver dollars that look like the real thing. Does anyone know where the best place to get them is? I do not want to blow some good money on the real thing because I do not want to spend up to 100 dollars for them. Please keep in mind I want this to be legal . Thanks guys!

I looked. The problem is that I am not sure if any of those will have the same feel as the actual Morgan Dollars. Well, I know they wont, but I do not want people to immediately notice that they are fake LOL. That would definitely be off-putting for the spectator.

O, I have a few of these replicas and they are more than fine enough for what you need them for.
Believe me, no one will know (especially laymen) that they are not real and they have good weight and feel to them too. Just believe they are real and they'll be real to the specs as well. These replicas are are a great alternative to the real thing and much cheaper. Think they are also metal and are attracted to magnets, so easy to hold-out by just having a secret magnet on you. Believe me, you are giving people much too much credit for what they recognize and or appreciate. First of all most people don't see Morgan Silver dollars all that much if at all nowadays, so if they seem surprised by them it's mostly because they don't see them often and they may appear unique and definitely larger than coins carried regularly in the pockets. These are cool. All of them seem to come from China. http://cgi.ebay.com/REPLICA-1889-CC-MORG......0609d9cb People don't carry Morgans or any dollar-size coins in their pockets much if at all anymore. And they have no comparative nature to assume that they are real or not. Not to mention that it makes no difference whether they are real or not anyway, as it's more about what you do with them. A ROV vanish with a replica looks exactly the same as it does if you do it with a real Morgan. A 3 Fly routine with replica Morgans will work the same way as with real Morgans. There is no significant difference unless you make that apparent to people, and just why would you do something like that??? The biggest difference is in the magician himself who might over-believe people's perceptions are sharper than they are, in most cases they are not which is why magic works so well in the first place, and this is in no way disrespecting your audience's intelligence. It just has to do with what and how they perceive things and it is you as the magician that in those moments govern that perception. Make sense? Now there are a lot of coin guys that will tell you that you have to have the real thing, it's the only way to feel whole and true...Buncha bunk! Sure, a lot of magis like the nice feel of real silver or are keen on the sound value, or only use this or that, or whatever, but it's just a matter of choice and or perhaps what you can afford, or perhaps just what's good enough for what you're doing. Anything I can do with real coins I can do with these replicas, and I can do a good bit of things. Both kinds of coins work the same in that regard, especially as to manipulation and sleights. Basically people/specs watch the effects and not if the coins are legal tender or not. Trick coins are a different matter and for the most part most people believe that even they are regular coins. Why? Because they look basically the same and that's all they have to look like to be taken as OK and you can get on with your trick. Anyway, these are nice coins to have if you don't want to go out there and spend a lot of money for them. You won't feel all that bad if you drop them or lose them even. Just get yourself a few of them, 5-6 and you'll be set pretty much forever as to these sorts of dollar size coins. And then one day when you want to get the real things you'll be getting them under better circumstances and hopefully some deeper real need for them. *Also you could just get you a few "real" Ike dollars from the banks or on ebay as well, pretty cheap too and not bad. http://cgi.ebay.com/Eisenhower-Ike-Silve......55801ee9

I've seen them for sale here too by one of the Café's members. I think those did not have the word "copy" on them.

The use of Morgan coins replicas will be a good idea to make a really nice and very economic Ramsay's Morgan "coins stack". I

My bank never has any. Not to mention almost no MINT bills. Sometimes makes me mad...oh well. My local coin shop always has them at a few cents more than face value .

Joe Mogar sells some nice ones, the thing I like about his is that they are magnetic, this helps me dump coins at the end with a magnet in my back pocket.

Interesting, but no where on Joe's coin page does it say that they are replicas, it says that they are " These Special coins and shells are ferromagnetic and are attracted to a magnet. " which a shimmed coin would be. The price of course for the coins are a tip off, but not so the shell.

The "replica" coins sold on ebay are manufactured illegaly in China. It's very hard to get hold of a real replica because the manufacture does not put on the stamp. If my memory serves me correctly - the morgan dollar is stil a legal tender thus making this counterfitting.

O, those look great, about as good as it has to get for what you need them for. You want them for magical purposes, not to spend. Now go get yourself a few of them and keep moving forward, and try not to get stuck in the many patches of mud along the way, especially on the small things.

No problem O, but check the seller that my friend Riz mentions here also and see if you can get them even cheaper. Might be a good idea as it does take a while shipping from China on these things that I have experienced.

If you buy Eisenhower silver dollar coins, don't buy "uncirculated" ones which cost a shade more for, when we use them in magic tricks, they get very small scratches which let the coins loose this "uncirculated" label. Why pay more for something that our use will destroy?
Double O, you are not the seventh man to use O as an avatar. As Double You See Field (or was it W. C. Field) used to say "in this business you got to be number one for two is not even a number".
