Got the 'Vault' anyway. Cheap plastic prop, not really worth the $ IMO

Coin in nest of boxes ...
This is a great item, I used to own many years ago. Unfortunately, I don't still have it. I know there are many versions of this effect, as it has evolved through the years. Mine was a simple nest of small cardboard boxes (about 3 in total), held shut with rubber bands. The final box contained a small "sack", which was also closed with a tight fitting rubber band on the neck. Inside of course was the signed coin. I have searched "high-and-low" for this item, but cannot find it. I know there are many versions, using plastic boxes and wallets, but the "sack" made this item an absolute gem. Does anyone know where I can find this item? |

I've seen some for sale on eBay -- the old vintage ones made by SS Adams using an outer box, an inner matchbox, and a little red cloth bag (plus rubber bands and the necessary slide).
Adams still makes these (look up "Magic Coin Box" on Amazon) but the little red cloth bag looks like it's been replaced by a white plastic or vinyl (or something) bag. The matchbox is no longer an actual matchbox, either. The charm has been replaced by tackiness, so I'd hunt for a vintage one (some are "new old stock," vintage but unused/unopened).
For a supernatural chiller mixing magic (prestidigitation, legerdemain) with Magic (occultism, mysticism), check out my novel MAGIC: AN OCCULT THRILLER at http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Occult-Thriller-Reed-Hall/dp/1453874836

Wulfiesmith, it's worth buying the Adam's product just to acquire the metal slide. You can make your own boxes. Or re-cover the goofy box with the rabbit artwork & go on Etsy and type in "vintage maych box" to find an inner box. There is a seller called "akasiaCaseCraft"

I know this is an old thread but I just saw Etsy.com selling the original SS Adams Coin nest of boxes from the 1970s. They have about 3 left. Cost is $50.00
