I'm looking for an online store to buy it and every single supplier seems to be out of stock?

I would buy from the original manufacturer, but I don't like to use paypal.

did it get discontinued? anyone using it and loving it? Did all the exposure work against them?

The ParaPad surpassed the NoMad Pad in design and function. I like to think the exposure didn't help NoMad's creators either. Time for them to reconsider their marketing methods. Back to their rooms without any supper!

I have a nomad pad, and from what I can tell it's a lot better than the parapad. However their exposure was so shameful

Eshla;

I'd love to hear your detailed thoughts on this, because I am torn between the parapad and the nomad. here or pm is fine, I would very much appreciate your time.

From what you can tell? Then you haven't seen both of them at work.

According to the YouTube video, the paper they draw or write on must be torn from the NoMad pad and rubberbanded to the outside of the closed pad beforehand. There is no need for such illogical handling when using the ParaPad. With the ParaPad, they draw on a single sheet before they themselves tear it from the pad.

The NoMad Pad requires the performer to reopen the pad to gain a peek. There is no need for that with the ParaPad. When using the ParaPad, you never reopen the pad. You just put it aside or away and you're done.

Since I own and happily use the ParaPad, and since I've seen the offending video, I've seen both pads in action and can assure you that the ParaPad is far, far superior all the way from design and ease of operation to SPECTACULAR customer service. I don't throw those words around too often.

The problem with the Café, especially for new members, is learning who you can trust for good reviews and sound advice. Eshla's a nice kid and I encourage you to buy both products if you have the cash, but don't buy the NoMad without also buying the ParaPad or you'll end up with the inferior product.

The YouTube commercial for the NoMad has been in plain sight of the public for weeks. Are you really gonna' support that kind of behavior? Please don't. Respect magic and mentalism more than that.

Mike, thank you kindly for your input, much appreciated.

If someone were to write the name Francesca or Florence or Constance or the word Allegedly on either of these pads - would the 'technology' be such that the writing could be legible without too much overlap or blurring?

I just wrote "Francesca" on my ParaPad to see. It's legible. I recommend asking them to print the name, since cursive is often hard to read on paper. They don't have to write big, though it's always better if they do. When I ask someone to write a name, I turn the pad sideways in "landscape" orientation to give them plenty of room to write.

One of the reasons the ParaPad is slightly more expensive is the medical-grade imaging material. I'm told that experimentation showed it to yield crisper images.

I'm actually considering buying psypher also, in case I want to 'mod' it to use the psypher material but the parapad hardware.

so many choices these days!

I don't know about the other guys, but if you decide you like the special material that comes with the ParaPad, you can contact the seller with the right dimensions and he'll cut a piece just for you. You can't cut any of these types of films yourself unless you have special cutting equipment. Otherwise you'll ruin the film. FYI

Best of luck in finding the pad that's right for you, even if that means building your own.

Just an FYI
Psypher can be cut with scissors or an exacto.

Thanks. I stand corrected. Parapad film can't be cut without special care because its composition.

Wonder if psypher is in any way 'finer' or more precise than nomad or parapad technology?

In my opinion NO! Sorry, the Para Pad is better on all accounts and has a few options and differences that I really like. The nomad was fine as these things go. Although a different type of pad is The Beautiful Butterfly from John Riggs. A pad of unspeakable genius.

Obviously I like mine, the 'Tommypad' best because of the the process (they take the page, you close the pad and put it down on the table. The end), normal pen, and the 'hidden in plain sight' image, but out of all the others I think the Parapad is the best. It has the clearest image and is the most deceptively designed in my opinion. The handling has also been designed very well. The Nomad was ok, but it looked very dodgy, the image was not great (especially for words) and the gaff was not well hidden at all.

I have and more importantly have performed with Parapad, Tommy pad, Nomad pad, and various Riggs devices. I can honestly say the one I have settled on and use the most is the parapad. The others all do what it says on the tin, Riggs' pads are obviously great but I prefer the refill on the parapad and I do like the size of the Tommy pad but it's always the Parapad that finds its way into my pocket.

It can be cut with an ordinary pair of scissors ;-)

Don't even bother thinking about Psypher - the Parapad is the way to go!
