I've been looking for a book about making a magician's table, with no luck. Most of the places I've seen online that has it says it is on back order. There are no magic dealers in my area that carries these books either.
I'm wondering how I would go about constructing a nice looking inexspensive magician's table. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Have you looked for The Table Book by Eugene Gloye. Try Denny & Lee's at the following link:

DouBelieve,
What type of table are you trying to build? A Storage/Performance Table ( ala Suitcase Table ) or a Centerpost style with a Performance Top secured by a Flange? Let me know and I will see what I can offer for help ![]() Chance Wolf

If you browse this forum's threads, you will find several threads discussing magician's tables. After reading them all, maybe you won't need a table book, or you can get some good references about the best book on magician's tables.

I plan on making a close up style table soon. I have a TV dinner style table out of wood from Wal-Mart, and the close up pad I have fits the top perfect. The cost overall is about $25 or less. I am sure you're looking for something more, but maybe this will work good for someone else.

I have made some really nice tables from items I have found at places like the Bombay House, Garden Ridge Pottery and even Wal-Mart. Some plant stands are made of wood, but they will take down to fit in a flat container. With a little judicious reinforcing here and there, they make excellent side tables.
I found a tilt top table at a furniture store once. It was fairly inexpensive. I replaced the round top with a rectangular one.

I also recommend the "Table books"... They have plenty of ideas and one will fit you.
For my Mental shows, I do not carry many props onto the stage, so I made a little modification to a music stand and it is very versatile. Moreover it is relatively cheap, around 25 dollars or so. Good luck.. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just made my own table (with black art well) based on Mark Wilson's great book Complete Course in Magic. Costs me less than $40.00 to finish.
I'm attaching a pix for your appreciation. Oooops! The file is too big for maximum allowable, sorry. All the best! Dynamite ![]()

Quote: Ray, the link you offered took me to a site for a company that offers private television network service! Anyone know the URL for Magic, Inc. in Chicago?
