I love the ring and gimmick that come with Thomas' Banded. I wear the ring every day now. The problem is it is getting dirty. I want to clean it so it matches the gimmick.
I am not sure what the ring is made of. Anyone have advice or information on what the ring is made of and how to keep it as clean as the gimmick? |

I feel your pain! I don’t know that it becomes dirty so much as tarnished; like a copper or brass coin. Worst part is that the gimmicked part doesn’t get the same usage and so tarnishes much less if at all. They become very different looking over time.

Guys, this should not be a problem. We had the gimmick plated. Contact me via private and let me see if I can give you some customer service.

The Banded rings clean up nicely! My ring was getting very tarnished while the gimmick wasn’t. I used a little dab of Wright's Silver Crème, rubbed it in with a terry cloth rag, then wiped it clean and it is as shiny as it was when I received it.
The ring is Nickel plated, according to a post by Koz in one of the early Banded threads, so I would advise against using any harsh abrasive polishes. Wright's was made for silver or silver plating but it was the gentlest cleaner I had on hand and it brought the ring back to brand new looking in about a minute or two. So, no need to get all worked up about the tarnishing; most metal items we handle a lot do this, like coins and cups. A little tougher to understand with a finger ring, but who am I to say... Thanks!
