Please don't post your paid for mnemonic software or book! This is intended as a free resource for members. I go through much of my time and trouble to find these items, and don't appreciate people trying to sell their wares on my back. Thank you. Here is the manual page; http://www.nongnu.org/majorteach/info/index.html and here is where you can get the free software; http://www.nongnu.org/majorteach/.
As has been discussed many times in this forum, a memory system is one of the essential tools of the mentalist. It is chapter 3 of Corinda's 13 Steps, and well worth the time and energy it takes to learn. I'm posting this in the hope that it helps people learn and grow. Enjoy. Peace. Posted: Jan 5, 2011 12:58pm ------------------------------- Quote: OK. It seems the software is in the development stage. However you can still learn the system and practice using the info on their site. If I or anybody else finds some free software to use, please post it here in this thread.

Hey Scott; Thank you for your posts! I'm sure the members here who use your information will acknowledge your contributions to the board? Till then again thank you! One question? Is there a pc based free program that teaches and tests the peg system? If so would you please be so kind as to post it here?
Again thank you for all your posts. Peace.

Don't forget that setting up the Major system facts on a flash card program can help you learn it, and there are many free flashcard programs online.
There are also many free Android flash card apps, and many free iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad flash card apps, too. (Not all of these will allow you to customize your own flashcards, so double-check that such a feature is available.) |

For learning about the system, Number Thesaurus is a good resource. Also, check out the Memorize Now web app. You can learn about it in the Memorize Now screencast. There's a technique known as Self-Enhancing Master Memory Matrix, or SEMMM or SEM Cubed for short. Using this approach, you add 100 more peg words, but in such a way that you now have 10,000 images to use as memory hooks! |

Mnemonics is a great skill to learn, I used to be quite good at this a few years ago and used it for studying. I even used to be able to memorize a deck of cards, it took minutes not seconds, so nobviously not good enough to enter competitions but good enough to impress people.

This is actual memorization software for help with numbers. http://www.got2know.net/index.htm and it's also available in 3 languages. Oh and as always it's completely free. Beta version.
Enjoy. Peace.

Old threat - but for the new, interested visitors:
I have created a free mnemonic major system generator / database. There is no registration necessary. Just enter a number, and it will generate matching keywords for you: http://major-system-generator.net |
