Yeah, I only know the crappy superhero movie and the guy who autographs stuff.
Legend has it that his name was originally John Footpenis but he changed it to Hancock.

Hancock was a very capable and popular Civil War general (he oversaw the repelling of Pickett's Charge, among other things). His middle name was Scott, after the general Santa cited. He lost one of the closest elections in presidential history, by popular vote - a couple of thousand votes separated him from James Garfield, out of about 9 million, and they carried the same number of states. The problem was, Grant had already been president, and "credited" with making a mess of it, so there was a public mistrust of retired military, to a fair extent. But for that mistrust, I might have posted "James Garfield," and everyone might have been asking, "Who?!"

I pass the rest of my turn to whomever posts next.

Congratulations Kevin
Back in the early 70's Patty Labelle's home phone rang, it was a piano player that backed her on her tour through England. He said "Patty this is Reg I'm playing the Spectrum Saturday night, and I want you there". Patty said "that's great news Reg, who are you with?". "Reg said Elton John". Patty said that's great I heard he is really good". "Reg said Patty I'm not with Elton John I am Elton John"

Kevin's turn

What's really amazing is that between his born and stage names he had a total of five first names. Reginald, Kenneth, Dwight, Elton, John.

So this hancock was named after the famous Winfield Scott? Did Scott know him as a kid or something because I believe Winfield Scott was the general in charge during the start of the civil war but he was reallllly old. How interesting that a guy is named after a General and becomes a general.

Here is one: Douglas Kenney

I think it's Kevin's turn, and I don't know if this is who Santa is thinking of, but Doug Kenney was one of the original writers and co-editor of the National Lampoon humor magazine. A bunch of that group went on to do Groundlings and SNL, but I'm not sure if Kenney was still involved.

Yes! Landmark got it. He also wrote Animal House (he played stork, the guy who took over the band at the end of the movie and marched them into a wall) and Caddyshack with his pals including Harold Ramos. He was walking along a cliff in Hawaii with Chevy Chase and fell to his death. When asked if it was a suicide Chevy said that he felt Kenney accidentally fall while looking for a place to jump.

I already had...he was Susie's boyfriend.

The BIGGEST kick they ever got, though, was doing a thing called the Crocodile Rock. Whatever the heck that was.

3 Day weekend!

This is how I study. I have a short attention span so I read my flashcards for a minute, type something on here, read a little more flashcards, type something else...
