Dang, I thought it was the alligator guy. What did the lobster boy do? He did something that shook up the town in Florida.

There is a photo of a James Taylor, he was on that documentary I saw! You win, Melvin was a weeble wobble.

My biggest worry is the one guy who reads this and thinks he really was a weeble wobble... and then pretends he knew it the whole time.

Melvin Burkhart was the Human Blockhead. I don't know if he actually originated the stunt where you hammer a nail into your nasal cavity, but he probably did it longer than anybody. I think he was in his 80s when he died, maybe more, and he was doing that stunt up to the end. I saw him once in Coney Island at Todd Robbins' 10-in-1 sideshow. He also did this bizarre thing where he moved the muscles in either half of his body independently as if he were two separate people. He had an amusing line of patter. If I remember correctly, he performed at Todd Robbins' wedding just a few months before he died. BTW the Human Blockhead stunt is like sword swallowing--it's for real, no gimmicks.

Santa, you were on the right track with your first guess. Edward John Smith was the Captain of the Titanic.
Richard Ramirez. Probably too easy but I can't think of anyone else at the moment. |

Lobo already beat me to it but I want to add his press nickname:
"The Night Stalker." Creepy, creepy dude. Watched a lot of the courtroom footage and stuff for my forensic psych course. I'm so dissapointed I didn't get the Titanic guy. I've read a lot about the Titanic and feel like I should have known that right away:( Well, can't win 'em all.

Lobo gets to name 'em. I don't think I should have received credit for a Mayflower joke.

Reminding Lobo not letting you know it was Lobo....how would you be expected to know the Titanic guy? No one knows that!

Yeah but I read a lot about the Titanic. According to my Aunt, who does all of our geneology on the Tuck side, I'm distantly related by marriage to J.J. Astor, who went down with the ship, so I have a keen interest in it. I should have at least known who the dang captain was.

Yes you should have! I read one book on it years ago so everything in it other than "ship float, ship hit iceberg, ship no float" is likely been proved wrong. Let's see of Lobo can come up with someone who wasn't famous in the first part of the last century.
