I know it is a messed up spelling, but that's really his name, and how he spelled it.

The odd thing is the last name sound familiar but I don't know why. Gaddy! Where are you? There is a Muybridge in San Francisco, go find out what he was.

While waiting for Gaddy to check San Francisco for me (it isn't really a large place relative to population) I'll mention that Tina Weymouth was also with Tom Tom Club and she was one of the first women in rock that was not a show piece but a serious musician and part of the whole unit. The first was Mo Tucker (arguments accepted) who was the drummer for Velvet Underground. The Doors had a female bass player for a bit, they don't recall her name and she must be dead cuz she hasn't surfaced, then realized that the keyboard player could do the bass parts just as well.

As an aside, many years ago I worked on a documentary film about a band called, "Half Japanese," in which we interviewed Mo Tucker. The film was called "Half Japanese: The Band that Would Be King."

Mo was great, and had some amazing stories as you might imagine.

A hint to Eadweard Muybridge. There is indeed a San Francisco connection, and there is a statue of him in San Francisco.

Muybridge was the photographer who took the stop action photos of the horses galloping to prove that at some point along the way, all four legs are in the air.

Here's one that's fairly easy: Frank Wills.

That Muybridge is mentioned in the Stanford museum in Palo Alto Ca and they have that horse and a buffalo running around in kind of like animation photos if you know what I mean, a series of 'em.

Frank Wills was Gary Colemans brother on that TV show of theirs with the hot dead girl. He'd say "whatsu tawkin'bout Wills" to him.

Yes! Die Hard! He was in the Yamaguchi building, which featured a skating rink in the lobby. What do we win Jack?

Exactly. The question was a hotly debated one at the time. The "bet" was with former Governor of California, Leland Stanford, who bankrolled the project. Muybridge used 24 cameras lined up on the race track and used string across the track connected to the shutters of the cameras. The horse tripped the shutters as it ran through through the strings. He is allegedly the first person to actually project motion pictures onto a screen in 1880. The images were from this horse motion capture experiment.

Didn't know that Muybridge was the first to screen a film projection.

Okay Frank Wills, another hint: he was a discoverer of sorts; part of homeland security, if your home is on the road . . .

He was on Forrest Gump, I watched the DVD last night (fun movie, didn't like that girl) and Frank Wills was the character who Forrest called up when there were lights at the Watergate Hotel who was the guard that answered the phone.
