Hi,

I currently constructing a box for my own use and I have a question that can hopefully be answered.

I wish to do the standard ring on rope and I'm wondering if there is a way to hide the m##### inside so that the inside of the box is examinable after should the spec's wish to.

Is it just a case of embedding then covering?

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Regards

Alan

Alan,

You might want to use 2 m****** to hold the ring centered over the hole. You want to use the rare earth kind so they will last. you need ones large enough to pull through a piece of wood veneer 1/2 by 1/4 works. Just drill 2 holes the size and depth of the m******, glue in place and glue on paper wood veneer with contact cement to cover.

You can also use steel shims in combination with loose, removable M's. With the M's away, the shims ane no longer M-tic. This talk is making me crave some M&Ms.

Go to my Sefalaljia website and scroll down a few pages ad look at the pictures of the ring inside the Sefalaljia Number 2 cabinet to see how I do it and how the ring fits.
