Can any one help, I think someone posted on the Café about a trick using an all joker deck which ended up with the spectator ending up with an indifferent card with a personalised birthday or christmas message written on the back.
Just can't seem to remember where I saw it hopefully someone on here uses it Thanks Rowland |

Hi there.
The trick in question is called "A Trick for O'Brien" and can be found in Michael Close's "Workers" series #5. |

Thank you so much, someone on the Café always comes up trumps, I must have seen it recently when I was reading my workers series and got confussed thought I saw it on here.
Thanks again. It's a great trick for anyone reading this and is not familiar with it check it out. |

Hi Rowland,
Dave Forrest (of Full52 fame) recently released a free effect that ends with a Christmas/New Year message on a card. The trick is very commercial - the message can be altered so that the effect can be used at a corporate event or birthday party. The trick is called Xmas Card. You might want to check it out. Marty |

I really like this trick!
Simple, yet effective! Too bad Christmas is over but... Me being a teacher I'm going to keep this trick in mind and the end of the school year, I am going to use with the two cards saying; "Study hard for your finals" and " Have a great summer!" Thanks for the link, Slim |

@slim23, this is a great idea and nicely demonstrates why this trick is so commercial. You can basically customise the messages to suit many different situations. Dave Forrest is a very clever and generous guy.
Glad you found the link useful Rowland . If you like tricks where writing appears on a card, you might also want to look into the work of Luke Dancy. If I remember correctly, he is very fond of this plot (see 'Untitled' from Theory11 for an example). An archive of all Mr Forrest's free tricks can be found here: http://www.full52.com/free_tricks.htm Marty |
