I have had issues with just about every other order I've placed with Amazon.
Most recently they cancelled an order for a book I wanted because thier system failed to update my new credit card expiration date when I entered it. Thier email notifying me that I had "2 days until my order was cancelled" went into my Spam so I didn't get it right away. They cancelled the order and now the book is only available for $23.50 MORE than I had agreed to pay. I sent them an email saying that they have 2 days to give me the book for the advertised price. I think I'm done with Amazon. They are obviously too big to provide decent customer service. Does anyone know any good alternatives?

Sorry you've had issues with them. I've had no issues with them so far... which is a good thing, since you can find just about anything there. I've begun to realize how difficult the homogenization of our brick-and-mortar stores has made finding specialty items- for example, 9 continuous yards of cheese cloth, or decent leatherworking supplies, or hard-to-find books that just won't be on the shelves at the local bookstore (if you even have a local bookstore anymore.)

Please give them another chance! They are my absolute favorite place to shop. I get *everything there. Hope they can fix the situation and win you back!

Our family spends lots of money on Amazon, and I can say that they have never disappointed . . . Their Prime shipping deal is a really good one if you do a reasonable amount of business with them.
But the Wikileaks thing is making me reevaluate. . . they caved much too easily against a site that has not been charged with, or convicted of, a single crime.

Their distribution is down the road and they won't hire experienced people cuz they want to train 'em, grind 'em, and spit 'em out....very close to Walmart though.
