Any one could help finding a place where it's possible to buy good looking rune stones ?
No shinny or brand new looking stuff if you see what I mean.

Any big name book store chain should carry them or the better thing to do is make your own set.
By making your own set they will hold a special meaning to you and you can pick your own medium (ie. clay, stone, wood, etc.) Just a thought. Also since your are in Europe you can get them from Black Hart. Go to my website and look under little shop of horrors. You should find a link there. Doug

use a nice wood and pyrograhy laterial, and you'll have YOUR beautiful set. you can do "special" runes, too... and more important, each rune you make, you LEARN it... Best- Didier |

Save yourself sometime and money, get Jim Magus book Mysteries of the Runes:23 magic effects and techniques
using Runes. You can buy this book from Dougs site for 20.00 bones. http://www.bizarremagick.com/jmagusproducts.html Rest |

You can easily make excellent rune "stones" from FIMO. It's a clay-like material that hardens when baked in any home oven. FIMO (and a few other brands of the stuff) are available at crafts stores and art supply stores.

Thanks to you all. I just wanted a sort of ivory engraved look or stone engraved look. I may go for some kind of resin. I will let you know if I come up with nice stuff.

Just got a pewter set -- adding to my earth (clay) set) and woodburned set --
Other than moving a little from the Elder Futhark on two symbols (easily reidentified) these are impervious to breakage.... GC

Rune sets are easily made from air-drying clay obtainable at any craft store. The beauty of using clay is that you can not only add "useful things" inside them (for PK effects) but you can also create countless duplicates, double sided stones, and so forth. In short, anyone who uses gaffed cards should easily be able to create a very useful set of gaffed runestones. Throw in a ratty old leather change bag and you've got yourself a one-man miracle show.

I know this might sound like a stupid question, but what is a rune stone?
