Thanks Jazzy, but truth be told I probably left off more than I've seen. But how could I forget you and Her Royal Highness? How are you guys coping with all that snow, anyways?

If we really go with 2 weeks or longer, the list would be unbearable. IMHO, if you are maintaining a residence someplace, then those 2 week or longer forays don't really count.

Did you go to UC Santa Cruz? My niece and her husband both went there for their masters.

I did. I was there for my first two years of undergrad ('84 - '86). Then I transferred to NYU.

Pushed it out of the way early luckily. Everything's all ice now.
Got the dog, the cat and the laptop so it's plenty warm.

Santa, it was a lovely, wonderful place to spend a couple of years. I would have stayed longer, but the school was lacking in the subject matter I was moving towards for studies. I have some pretty fond memories of my time spent there.

Go Slugs!

Have you been to EWU or SFCC? Those are some nice campuses.

UC Santa Cruz is small and you wouldn't know it was a university. I've not been in Washington for years. The mighty Banana Slugs!

My niece goes to Cal State Monterey which is the old Ft Ord base I think....that might be nice for the beach.

I voted for the Banana Slugs while I was a student there. It was sometime between '86 and '86 that the vote came up. The mascot choice was either Banana Slugs or Sea Lions, IIRC. Everyone I knew voted for Slugs. It's turned into quite the cash cow for the school in terms of sales of items at the University store sporting the mascot logo.

I recall the vote! We had our banana slug tshirts. I have only seen one real banana slug, camping up around the top of the Santa Cruz mountains with my class as a kid.

Oh man, back when I was there, we saw them all the time. They are kind of nasty looking.

they moved people around a lot, kind of like IBM use to.
Really? Cuz my father worked there 25 years and never moved once, nor his fellow employees. The exception was if someone left to start their own company. Most of them stayed in the area, but a few left for other parts of This great country of ours.

But IBM moving folks all over the place... I never witnessed it.

That is what our neighbor who worked his entire career at IBM said.....GE stopped moving them around as well. Which IBM did your father work at Tom?
