What major changes can you see happening in the world 50 years time from now?
Take into consideration:
Politics & government
World economics
Climate change
Population changes
Technology changes
Industrial revolution

If you were living back in the 1800's and could spend a day looking at our modern society, would you be surprised to see how things have turned out?

Look forward to 2100 & beyond (our children & grandchildren will be there), and do you wonder what it will be like for them?

I'm very interested if anybody will share their attempt participate in this ultimate mentalism effect. Smile

Check out "The Next 100 Years," by George Friedman, who founded the geopolitical think tank, "STRATFOR."

It's a really fascinating read.

I hope it looks something like Futurama.

I want my robot to be much more polite than the "Futurama" one. And not all emotional like Marvin either. In fact, no anthropomorphic robots at all. Just like an R2D2 but one that follows orders and is better at grabbing beers out of the fridge and doing dishes and stuff.
I guess you could have anthropomorphic robots in some trades to reduce the demand for human trafficking. But not in my house.

I think 100 years from now personal computers will be either worn as jewelry or be a part of our own biology (maybe a combination of the two).

We will have a very new and clean form of energy with cars that run on an unlimited form of power, making it possible to travel from one end of the country to the other without the necessity of stopping to refuel.

Organ donor’s will no longer be necessary as medical science will be able to grow new body parts using tissues or excretions taken at birth and stored for one’s lifetime, therefore eliminating organ rejection.

And maybe the most important change will be World Peace (if that is ever going to be possible). It seems to me that 100 years from now if World Peace is not achieved or at least much closer to reality than it is today, then it will never become a reality.

Something interesting and kind of related:
Last week I was using a giftcard I printed and I asked my girlfriend "Do you think one day they'll just do all of these by phone? Like you get a barcode in your phone or something and they scan it."
Then yesterday I heard on the radio that Starbuck's is actually taking steps in that direction. Weird.

I'd say that unless there are some pretty radical changes, there won't be much "living" going on in 100 years!

I'm sure things will be different from now. I highly doubt that robots will be any different from what they are now and people still won't have them in their own homes to be maids/butlers as in the Jetson's cartoons. God help everyone if there are flying cars. Too many people don't know how to drive now. Flying cars and everyone is doomed.

Demolition man was not a utopia.

If things keep going as they are, I actually doubt we'll be off of fossil fuels/coal/nuclear.

They may eventually shift all to the electric car, but that only moves the pollution further away, rather than eliminating it.
